Patent number: 6639348Abstract: A color cathode ray tube includes an evacuated envelope having a generally rectangular panel portion, a narrow neck portion having a circular cross-section and a funnel portion tapering down from a panel-portion side thereof toward a neck-portion side thereof for connecting the panel portion and the neck portion, a three-color phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of the panel portion, an electron gun housed in the neck portion, and an internal conductive film extending from an inner wall of the neck portion to an inner wall of the funnel portion. The funnel portion is provided with a yoke-mounting portion of generally truncated quadrilateral-pyramidal shape for mounting a beam deflection yoke therearound on the neck-portion side of the funnel portion. The internal conductive film is formed of a first part and a second part, the first part is formed of graphite, metallic oxide and potassium silicate, and the second part is formed of graphite and potassium silicate.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2000Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd, Hitachi Device Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Ito, Shunichi Matsumoto, Kiyoshi Sento, Kazuyuki Nishimura, Nobuhiko Hosotani, Masatoshi Akiyama

Patent number: 4403170Abstract: There is disclosed a color picture tube of the type having inner and outer conductive films respectively formed on inner and outer surfaces of a glass bulb of the color picture tube and a conduction path formed in the inner conductive film which extends from an anode terminal provided for the outer surface of the glass bulb to an electron gun for applying thereto anode high voltage. In this type of color picture tube, the resistance of the conduction path extending from the anode terminal to the electron gun is made smaller than an average resistance of a portion of the inner conductive film excepting the conduction path. With this arrangement, sufficient arcing energy can be obtained for removing causes for arcing when spot knocking involved in the manufacture process for the color picture tube is carried out and in addition, flash-over current accruing from arcing taking place during actual operation of a color television receiver set incorporating the color picture tube can be suppressed.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1980Date of Patent: September 6, 1983Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masayoshi Misono, Masatoshi Akiyama, Shigemi Hirasawa
