Publication number: 20210127247Abstract: The present invention enables determination of a pairing partner from among a plurality of devices. In response to acquisition of individual identification information enabling identification of one peripheral terminal, from among one or more peripheral terminals, a pairing unit of a central terminal starts a process (scanning) for acquiring an advertising packet, which is information transmitted from the one peripheral terminal and which is necessary for pairing, and executes pairing with the peripheral terminal by using the acquired advertising packet. In addition, a pairing unit of the peripheral terminal executes control for transmitting the advertising packet in response to acquisition of individual identification information by the central terminal.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2019Publication date: April 29, 2021Inventors: Shozaburo SHIMADA, Kazutoshi KASHIMOTO, Siddharth Vijay PILLAI, Shintaro ITAMOTO, Hideaki NII, Masatoshi IMAI, Shota KAGAMI

Patent number: 7370046Abstract: Disclosed are a sort processing method and a sort processing apparatus, which, in a computer or data processing, compare magnitudes of pieces of data input by hardware, rearrange the pieces of data in accordance with a predetermined order and output the rearranged pieces of data. The sort processing apparatus includes first basic cells, each of which is composed of a first data comparator for comparing magnitudes of pieces of input data with each other and for outputting a first select signal, and a first data selector for rearranging said compared pieces of input data in a magnitude order on the basis of said first select signal, wherein said first basic cells having the same number as that of combinations of pieces of input data to be compared are arranged in a pipeline configuration.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2002Date of Patent: May 6, 2008Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Masatoshi Imai

Patent number: 6603922Abstract: An editing system includes an editing device 1 for editing a plurality of channels of video data, a disk recorder 2 constituted by a disk array having a plurality of disks, and a computer 3. The disk recorder 2 prepares a block map for managing recording areas on the disks so that respective subblock data are recorded at such position that a rotational delay time of a head becomes minimum in accessing the subblock data recorded on the respective disks. The disk recorder 2 then divides pixel data of source video frames into a plurality of subblocks for each frame on the basis of the block map, and records the subblocks so that the subblocks are dispersed on a plurality of different disks.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Masaaki Shino, Tanio Nagasaki, Yasunobu Kato, Masaki Nishikawa, Noboru Ooya, Masatoshi Imai

Publication number: 20020080141Abstract: image processing system is capable of expressing a 3-D image correctly even if semitransparent images are complicatedly mixed in the 3-D image. A plurality of image generators each generate image data including a depth distance, from a predetermined reference portion, of an image to be expressed by the image data, and color information thereof. A merger specifies, e.g. sorts, the plurality of received image data in order of the depth distance included in each of the image data and merges the color information of the image data which is for expressing a first image whose depth distance is relatively long and the color information of the image data which is for expressing a second image in an overlapping manner over the first image.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2001Publication date: June 27, 2002Inventors: Masatoshi Imai, Junichi Fujita, Daisuke Hihara

Publication number: 20020050991Abstract: An image processing system includes a plurality of image generators and a merger which generates combined image data by merging image data produced by the image generators. The merger includes FIFOs for temporarily storing the image data received from the image generators, respectively. The merger further includes a synchronous signal generator for generating a first synchronous signal which causes the image generators to output the image data and further generating a second synchronous signal which causes the FIFOs to output the stored image data. The merger further includes a merging unit which receives the image data from the FIFOs in synchronization with the second synchronous signal and merges the received image data to produce combined image data.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2001Publication date: May 2, 2002Inventors: Junichi Fujita, Masatoshi Imai, Daisuke Hihara

Patent number: 5440680Abstract: An image display controller includes a first memory for storing data of an image to be displayed in a first window; a second memory for storing data of an image to be displayed in a second window, where no data is read from the second memory for image display during the data reading operation in the first memory; and a third memory for storing data of an overlay image on which the image of the first or second memory is superimposed, and also storing window data to set the range of the windows. The controller is arranged to prevent any disordered display of images and is capable of displaying an increased number of windows.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1994Date of Patent: August 8, 1995Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Norihito Ichikawa, Masatoshi Imai, Hidehiro Hirase, Shinji Takashima

Patent number: 5418901Abstract: A method and apparatus for shading images by approximating a three-dimensional curved surface for computer graphics. Shading of a two-dimensional surface is provided by varying pixel brightness values to indicate a depth dimension of the two-dimensional surface. A plurality of polygons are employed, with each polygon being used to approximate a portion of the curved surface. A coordinate grid is provided extending in horizontal and vertical directions. The polygons are plotted on this coordinate grid. Coordinate grid points of the coordinate grid each represent respective pixels whose brightness is to be varied for the graphics. Scanning occurs across scan lines in a horizontal direction across the grid from grid point to grid point. Vertices of the polygons are provided on the coordinate grid, which vertices may not necessarily lie directly on a grid point. Brightness values at each vertex of the polygon are provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1994Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Mutsuhiro Omori, Norihito Ichikawa, Hidehiro Hirase, Masatoshi Imai
