  • Publication number: 20240023806
Abstract: A method for self-diagnosis of posterior segment eye disease, comprising: (a) a patient obtains a self-fundus image; and (b) the patient provides the self-fundus image into an automatically constructed deep-learning model to determine whether or not the patient has posterior segment eye disease, wherein the step (a) comprises: (a-1) the patient instills mydriatic drops to dilate his/her pupil; (a-2) the patient places a monitor that outputs an image captured by a fundus videography camera; (a-3) the patient places a lens in front of his/her eye; (a-4) the patient holds the camera so that the fundus can be recorded through the lens and focuses the camera on the fundus of his/her eye while checking the monitor; (a-5) the patient records a video of his/her fundus with the camera; and (a-6) the patient obtains a self-fundus image as a still image from the video.

  • Publication number: 20220055907
Abstract: A method of producing a carbon material-containing material having a precisely controlled structure under a mild condition, a carbon material-containing material covalently bonded to an inorganic matter, and an intermediate material which is useful for, for example, industrially producing carbon-coated inorganic particles, hollow carbon fine particles, and can be industrially produced under a mild condition, are provided. The method of producing a carbon material-containing material includes heating a composition containing a compound (A), which causes a condensation reaction between the same and/or different molecules, and an inorganic matter. When the compound (A) has a condensation reaction temperature of T° C., a heating temperature is (T?150)° C. or more. The carbon material-containing material includes a carbon material and an inorganic matter. At least part of the carbon material and inorganic matter are covalently bonded.

  • Patent number: 10463532
Abstract: An implant is placed in the choroid in the posterior eye segment. The conjunctiva is incised, and an injection needle is inserted between the conjunctiva and the sclera. The tip of the injection needle is advanced to the vicinity of the optic disc along the surface of the sclera. After placing a vitrectomy lens over the cornea so that the eyeground can be observed, the tip of the injection needle that appears white is observed while observing the eyeground through the vitrectomy lens and pressing the sclera using the injection needle. The injection needle is moved to determine an appropriate insertion position of the implant in the vicinity of the optic disc, and is inserted diagonally into the sclera. The tip of the injection needle is advanced into the choroid, and the implant is inserted into the choroid through the tip opening formed at the tip of the injection needle.

  • Patent number: 9642864
Abstract: An implant for a living body is designed so that the drug release level can be adjusted to make it possible to perform treatment corresponding to the severity of disease state and the effectiveness of the drug on each individual. The implant includes a drug, and is inserted into a target part of a living body to effect sustained release of the drug, the implant including a photoactive agent that accelerates the release of the drug when irradiated with laser light. The implant is inserted into a living body, and laser light is appropriately applied to the implant to adjust the release level of the drug released into the living body. An eye disease or the like is treated using the above method.

  • Patent number: 8465859
Abstract: A current sensor includes a magnetic balance sensor and a switching circuit. The magnetic balance sensor includes a feedback coil which is disposed near a magnetic sensor element varying in characteristics due to application of an induction field caused by measurement current and which produces a canceling magnetic field canceling the induction field. The switching circuit switches between magnetic proportional detection and magnetic balance detection. The magnetic proportional detection is configured to output a voltage difference as a sensor output. The magnetic balance detection is configured to output, as a sensor output, a value corresponding to current flowing through the feedback coil when a balanced state in which the induction field and the canceling magnetic field cancel each other out is reached after the feedback coil is energized by the voltage difference.
