  • Patent number: 5283118
Abstract: A metallized wrapping film having low water vapor transmittance and low oxygen transmittance, in which the adhesion of the metallic layer to the base film is strong, and which has heat-sealing property is disclosed. The metallized wrapping film according to the present invention comprises a plastic base film; a heat-sealing layer formed on one surface of said base film; and a metallic layer formed on one surface of said base film opposite to said surface on which said heat-sealing layer is formed, said metallic layer consists essentially of 70-99% by weight of aluminum and one or more elements selected from the elements having an atomic number of 12-30 excluding aluminum.

  • Patent number: 5073452
Abstract: A film for print lamination is described which comprises a biaxially drawn polypropylene film having a heat-adhesive layer provided on one side thereof, the surface of said heat-adhesive layer having a wet tension not smaller than 34 dyne/cm, said heat-adhesive layer being comprised of a composition comprising:(a) 100 parts by weight of a first component consisting of an ethylene methyl methacrylate copolymer having a melt flow rate of from 5 to 500; and(b) from 5 to 50 parts by weight of a second component selected from the group consisting of polyethylene and an ethylene-methyl methacrylate copolymer and having a melt flow rate of from 0.05 to 3.0.This film for print lamination is used to laminate over a printed surface of a printed matter by application of heat and pressure to obtain a laminated product having a good gloss.

  • Patent number: 4966933
Abstract: A propylene polymer film is described which is composed of a composition including 100 parts by weight of a propylene polymer, 0.01 to 0.5 parts by weight of a fine powder of a crosslinked silicone resin and 0.3 to 3.0 parts by weight of a hydroxy-fatty acid glyceride. A laminate film including a layer comprised of the above composition is also described. The film has an excellent transparency, gloss, slipperiness and adhesiveness, as well as a good adaptability to vacuum deposition.

  • Patent number: 4522887
Abstract: This invention provides a laminated film prepared by laminating at least one surface of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film (A) with an olefin polymer film (B) containing from 10 to 50% by weight of an ethylene component and the balance mainly comprising a propylene component, said olefin polymer film (B) having at least three peaks in the melting curve within the range of from 120.degree. to 165.degree. C. and a surface roughness Ra of from 0.2 to 1.5.mu., said laminated film being excellent in delustering quality, light transmittance, retention of delustering quality under heat and pressure, adhesion to metallized layers and to paper. This invention further provides a laminated film prepared by laminating a polymer film (C) containing from 1 to 40% by weight of an ethylene component and the balance mainly comprising a propylene component and having one or two melting peaks within the range of from 100.degree. to 165.degree. C. and a surface roughness Ra of below 0.15.mu.

  • Patent number: 4393115
Abstract: Laminating a stretched thin propylene-ethylene block copolymer layer onto a surface of a laminate film hving a biaxially oriented polypropylene layer and a polypropylene layer uniaxially oriented only in the width direction. The resulting film has improved hand-cutting properties and the surface accepts wiring or drawing and is especially advantageous for use as adhesive tape.
