  • Publication number: 20230314255
Abstract: A torque sensor fault detection method is provided. When a torque sensor is normal when a vehicle is going straight, the torque sensor points to a torque midpoint, but when the vehicle is going straight on an inclined road, the torque midpoint is offset due to the slope of the road surface, and the torque sensor is mistakenly detected to be faulty. If a direction of a rudder angle is opposite to an offset direction of a detection value of the torque sensor, it may be judged that the torque sensor is faulty. If the two are in the same direction, the vehicle is travelling on the inclined road, and it may be judged that the torque sensor is normal, without being mistakenly detected to be faulty.

  • Publication number: 20230311978
Abstract: A vehicle control device includes: an idle-stop controller configured to control an idle-stop function of a vehicle; and an electric power steering controller configured to assist a steering operation with an electric motor. The electric power steering controller is configured such that, when the electric power steering controller detects a failure by diagnosis, the electric power steering controller controls, based on whether vehicle speed related information including vehicle wheel speed information is receivable and based on whether idle-stop related information related to an idle-stop operation is receivable, an assist operation assisting a steering effort while the idle-stop operation is in progress so that the idle-stop operation may be performed. The idle-stop controller is configured to control the idle-stop function of the vehicle even when the electric power steering controller detects the failure by the diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 11731480
Abstract: A suspension system (vehicle) includes: an air suspension that is inserted between a vehicle body and each of wheels and that is capable of extending and contracting by means of pressure of working fluid; a compressed air control unit that controls the working fluid; an electric power supplier that supplies electric power to the compressed air control unit; and a power saver that stops flow of the working fluid when abnormality occurs in the electric power supplier. When a vehicle has a predetermined vehicle height, the power saver stops the flow of the working fluid, and when the vehicle has a vehicle height other than the predetermined vehicle height, the power saver allows the working fluid to flow until the vehicle height reaches the predetermined vehicle height, and then stops the flow of the working fluid.

  • Patent number: 10252743
Abstract: An electric power steering device is provided, easing a sense of incongruity that a driver feels with respect to steering. If an abnormal phase is detected, an electronic control unit (ECU) 50 stops energizing a winding (any one of windings 86u, 86v and 86w) of the abnormal phase and energizes windings (two of the windings 86u, 86v and 86w) of the two phases other than the abnormal phase, and, as a vehicle speed V increases, the ECU 50 reduces a current value applied to the windings (two of the windings 86u, 86v and 86w) of the two phases other than the abnormal phase.

  • Publication number: 20120203430
Abstract: Electric power steering system comprises an electric motor (9) for producing a steering assist force reducing a steering effort of a vehicle operator and a control unit (21) determining a control value for the electric motor, the control unit being configured to determine the control value by selecting a map representing a relationship between a vehicle state variable and a control value for each of a plurality of control modes. When switching control modes, the control unit gradually changes the control value from that obtained from a map corresponding to a preceding control mode to that of a following control mode. A different time period of gradual transition from the preceding control mode to the following control mode is selected depending on those control modes.
