  • Publication number: 20050086488
Abstract: An information signal copy managing method for properly protecting the copyright of information signals and, at the same time, guaranteeing user advantages in copying information signals within a limited range. Information indicative of the start and end of each piece of information content covered by copyright is superimposed thereon as electronic watermark information. The resultant information signal is transmitted. When the received information signal is copied, both the information indicative of the start of the information content and the information indicative of the end thereof are detected from the electronic watermark information, determining the completion of copying. Thus, copying of information content is managed.

  • Publication number: 20040240854
Abstract: A recorder provides to a recorder/player via a high-speed bus content-related information such as a digital audio signal as information, a content ID being identification information on the digital audio signal and a standard playing time of the digital audio signal. The recorder/player has a controller which stores the content ID into a copy-history information management memory when the same content ID is not existent in the memory. The content ID is held for a period measured by a timer. For this period, the recording function of the recorder/player is limited so that the same digital audio signal cannot be copied at a high speed.

  • Publication number: 20020157013
Abstract: Literary work data is stored in storing devices of C/Ss. Location information of literary work data is described on a list of a server. Corresponding to the list, a copyright licensing process promoting system supervises the C/Ss. It is determined whether or not a file tried to be transmitted from a C/S is literary work data. When the file tried to be transmitted is literary work data, it is determined whether or not the user has properly performed a predetermined copyright licensing process. When the determined result represents that the copyright licensing process has not been performed, a warning message that requests the user to perform the copyright licensing process is sent to him or her. When the user ignores the warning message and tires to transmit the literary work data, the copyright process promoting system attacks the C/S as the transmission source. For example, the file tried to be transmitted is destroyed.

  • Publication number: 20010025269
Abstract: A specific contents information is distributed from an information supply station 20 to a terminal apparatus 30 via a communication network 60. Further, a terminal apparatus 30-1 owned by the owner of such a recorded medium recorded with a contents information secondarily distributes the contents information to another terminal apparatus 30. Next, the terminal apparatus 30-1 delivers a media owner data to the information supply station 20. The terminal apparatus 30 feeds a rent charged reference data designating the state of utilizing distributed contents information whenever a predetermined period of time is past. The information supply station 20 generates a utilization data designating actual condition of utilization per contents information and individual names of users for delivery to an information provider 10. Based on the delivered data, the information provider 10 charges individual users for payment of the rent.
