  • Patent number: 6410608
Abstract: A process for producing a polyurethane foam comprising reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a catalyst comprising a compound represented by the formula (I): wherein p is an integer of 4 to 8, and a compound having a primary amino group and a tertiary amino group in its molecule, a blowing agent and a surfactant. The polyurethane foam obtained by the process of the present invention can be suitably used for heat insulating materials for construction materials, electric refrigerators, refrigerated warehouses, baths and the like, interior materials for automobiles, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6306918
Abstract: A semi-rigid polyurethane foam having a strength retention of not less than 70% when allowing it to stand at 120° C. for 24 hours, and a Haze value of not more than 2 as determined by Fogging test, prepared by mixing a polyol mixture comprising a polyol, water and a catalyst with a polyisocyanate, and foaming the resulting mixture, and a process for preparing the same. The semi-rigid polyurethane foam would not cause fogging under high-temperature conditions, and can be suitably used for interior materials of automobiles such as headrests and armrests.

  • Patent number: 5444099
Abstract: A tertiary aminoalcohol having a tert-amino group(s) in the main chain and hydroxyl groups at the terminals. The use of this compound for purposes different from that of ordinary amines and amine derivatives is expected.A process for producing the tertiary aminoalcohol wherein a catalyst comprising copper, a transition metal element of the fourth period and a platinum group element of the group VIII, and further optionally containing an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal is used.A process for producing polyurethane using the above-mentioned tertiary aminoalcohol which can solve the problems occurring in the production of a polyurethane using a tertiary amine which has a strong irritating odor and is highly irritant to the skin as a catalyst, for example, deteriorations of working atmosphere and sales appeal of the polyurethane.
