  • Patent number: 6037745
Abstract: A charging apparatus for charging batteries of automobiles includes an inverter for converting the direct current from a direct current power source into an alternating current and a transformer having a first coil and a second coil. When an alternating current from the inverter is applied to the first coil, the second coil produces an alternating voltage. A capacitor is connected between the terminals of the second coil to increase the alternating voltage produced in the second coil. A rectifier circuit rectifies the alternating voltage increased in the booster circuit into a direct current voltage and the direct current voltage is applied to the battery. Two transistors, which function as a short circuit, are provided in the rectifier circuit. When the direct current voltage from the rectifier circuit is equal to or higher than a predetermined permissible value, a drive signal from a drive circuit turns on the two transistors.

  • Patent number: 5958552
Abstract: A laminated film comprising (A) an aromatic polyester film; and (B) a hydrophilic coating layer which is present on at least one side of the aromatic polyester film (A) and has a surface energy of at least 54 dyne/cm, the coating layer comprising (a) 50 to 80% by weight of a copolyester which contains a dicarboxylic acid component having a sulfonate group in an amount of 1 to 16 mol % of the total of all dicarboxylic acid components and has a secondary transition point of 20 to 90.degree. C., (b) 10 to 30% by weight of poly(alkylene oxide) homopolymer having a number average molecular weight of 600 to 2,000, and (c) 3 to 25% by weight of fine particles having an average particle diameter of 20 to 80 nm, based on the total of components (a), (b) and (c). The above laminated film is useful as a transparency for an overhead projector and a recording paper for an ink jet printer.

  • Patent number: 5910356
Abstract: An adherent polyester film laminate (A) having a coating layer of a composition formed on one side or both sides of a polyester film, the composition comprising, as main components, (i) an aqueous polyester having a secondary transition point of 40 to 85.degree. C. and (ii) a fatty acid bisamide; a polyester film laminate (B) having a hard coat layer formed on the coating layer of the laminate (A); and a polyester film laminate (C) having an anti-reflection layer formed on the hard coat layer of the laminate (B). Since these laminates are excellent in adhesive force, transparency and slipperiness and has an anti-reflection property, they are useful as a face surface protective material for glass and displays.
