  • Publication number: 20140235108
Abstract: A connector has a plurality of high-speed differential signal lanes each of which includes two first contacts for high-speed differential signal transmission and two ground contacts. A second contact which does not belong to the high-speed differential signal lanes is arranged between the high-speed differential signal lanes. On a first connection side for connection with a connecting object, contacting portions of the contacts are arranged in a single row at a distance from one another. On a second connection side for connection with a mounting object, terminal portions of the first contacts and terminal portions of the ground contacts are arranged in a first row at a distance wider than that between the contacting portions while a terminal portion of the second contact is arranged in a second row.

  • Patent number: 8690608
Abstract: A universal serial bus (USB) receptacle with which and from which a standard USB plug and a special USB plug are selectively matable and removable along a predetermined direction. The standard USB plug is in accordance with a USB standard so as to have a standard shell. The special USB plug has a special shell so as to have a different structure from the standard shell. The USB receptacle comprises a detector. The detector has a contact portion. The contact portion is arranged at a position where the standard shell does not arrive when the standard USB plug is mated with the USB receptacle. The special shell is connected to the contact portion at the position when the special USB plug is mated with the USB receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20140017961
Abstract: A differential signal connector includes a plurality of pairs of signal contacts, a plurality of ground contacts, and an insulating housing holding the signal contacts and the ground contacts. On a first connection side for connection to a connection partner, the ground contacts are arranged on both sides of each pair of signal contacts so that a contact array of a fixed pitch is formed. On a second connection side for connection to a board, the ground contacts are arranged spaced apart from each other in a first row, while the pairs of signal contacts, which are adjacently arranged on both sides of the ground contact on the first connection side, are arranged so as to be allocated in a second row and a third row located on both sides of the first row so that the pairs of signal contacts are arranged zigzag on the second connection side.

  • Patent number: 8597038
Abstract: A connector is connectable to a card. The connector comprises an eject member including a pressed portion. The eject member is configured to eject the card along an eject direction when the pressed portion is pressed by an operation member separated from the connector and having a tip. The pressed portion is formed by bending a metal plate so as to have a receiving wall and a side wall. The receiving wall is configured to be brought into abutment with the tip of the operation member so that the pressed portion is pressed by the operation member. The side wall extends in a direction crossing the receiving wall so that the side wall is located lateral to the tip upon the abutment of the tip with the receiving wall.

  • Patent number: 8591272
Abstract: By using a lead frame as an intermediate member, a contact group of a connector is manufactured. The lead frame includes a plurality of first leads arranged on a plane and spaced from one another, a plurality of pairs of second leads, each pair being arranged on the plane between the first leads, and a connecting portion connecting the first and the second leads on one end side. The second leads have a pitch which is greater on the other end side than that on the one end side to make the second leads approach the first leads on the other end side, respectively. The lead frame further includes bridge portions connecting approached ones of the first and the second leads to each other at a portion where an interval between the first and the second leads is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8403696
Abstract: In a connector including a to-be-fitted portion for fitting to a mating connector in a first direction and a conductive shell covering the to-be-fitted portion, the shell is provided with a flange extending from a shell body in a second direction crossing the first direction and with a to-be-locked portion extending from the flange in the first direction. When attaching the connector to an attaching object, the flange is caused to face one surface of the attaching object in the first direction and the to-be-locked portion is caused to pass through the attaching object in the first direction so as to project from an opposite surface of the attaching object.
