  • Publication number: 20070021006
Abstract: A shielding shell (18) is integrated into a housing (5) by insert molding, whereas a shell connecting member (22) is mounted on an end of a braided wire (2) of a shielded cable (1) by crimping a crimping ring (23) and can be brought into contact with the inner surface of the shielding shell (18). A cover (17) is mounted on the rear end of the housing (5) to retain the shell connecting member (22). As the crimping ring (23) is crimped, ribs (26) are formed to project and each of them is engageable with any one of turn preventing recesses (35) arranged at a plurality of positions along circumferential direction on the inner circumferential surface of the cover (17). Thus, the shell connecting member (22) is prevented from turning, thereby causing no abrasion at contact portions with the shielding shell (18).

  • Publication number: 20060061459
Abstract: A portable device for facilitating adjustment of the area in which communication with a controller is enabled. The portable device performs wireless communication with an in-vehicle device, which controls a door lock driver or an engine starter of a vehicle, to remotely control the in-vehicle device. The portable device includes a receiver for receiving a request signal from the in-vehicle device and a control unit for lowering or raising the signal receiving sensitivity of the receiver by predetermined levels to adjust the signal receiving sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20050020212
Abstract: A controller enabling switching between a smart function and an immobilizer function without using a key cylinder or a slot. The controller includes a verification ECU for transmitting a request signal to a first area and transmitting a transponder drive radio wave to a second area. The portable device transmits an ID code signal in response to the request signal or the transponder drive radio wave. The verification ECU enables the starting of an engine when the ID code transmitted from the portable device matches an ID code of the controller. The verification ECU transmits the drive radio wave when a driver operates a switch in a state in which the starting of the engine is not enabled after the request signal is transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20040185798
Abstract: A portable device that resists deformation caused by an external force while remaining water resistant. The portable device includes a case, which is made of a flexible material. A battery compartment is formed in the case. A separable portion is arranged in the part of the case corresponding to the battery compartment. Part of the case is bent to open the separable portion and expose the battery compartment from the case.

  • Patent number: 6604268
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for widening the woven conductive sheath that Surround a shielded cable. The apparatus includes opposed punches that move into Contact with the exposed conductive sheath. Forces exerted by the punches are Sufficient to cause the extreme end of the exposed conductive sheath to be flared outwardly. The punches may be moved circumferentially around the wire for successive punching operations to achieve a uniform flaring. The punches also may be moved axially further away from the flared end to perform a second series of punches to flare the conductive sheath even further. The flared conductive sheath then can be folded over the insulating sheath.

  • Patent number: 6243947
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided to widen a woven sheath of a wire. The apparatus and method are operative to punch an exposed woven sheath S3 in radial directions by a pair of punches 31b to deform and widen the woven sheath. The woven sheath S3 can be deformed and widened easily even if it has a multi-layer construction.

  • Patent number: 5561267
Abstract: A crimp terminal having a crimp barrel crimped to an end of an electric wire is disclosed. The crimp barrel has a body of semicircular cross section and a couple of crimp wings which integrally extend from ends of the circular arc of the body and are caulked around the end of the electric wire in a mutually overlapped state. The crimp wings are overlapped and locked so they prevent each other from moving in a direction to release the overlap. It is preferred that each of crimp wings has a hook portion mutually locked on a locking surface. Also, a process for producing the crimp terminal is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5484961
Abstract: An opened barrel type crimp terminal having a body of semicircular cross section which surrounds an end of an electric wire. A pair of claws integrally extend from ends of a circular arc of the body and are adapted to be crimped on the end of the electric wire. This invention further includes a method of crimping the crimp terminal on the end of the electric wire. The body containing the end of the electric wire is put on a pressure receiving member. One of the claws extends a predetermined length longer than the other claw. A pressing member is displaced with respect to the pressure receiving member to bend the longer claw above the other claw so that the longer claw laps over the other claw. This crimps the electric wire into the crimp terminal.

  • Patent number: 5432995
Abstract: There is provided a terminal crimping apparatus for moving a plurality of crimp terminals respectively contained in a plurality of connector housings to a crimping position in a desired order to caulk the crimp terminal on an end of an electric wire. The terminal crimping apparatus includes one turntable for holding a plurality of types of pressure receiving members for receiving the crimp terminals and another turntable for holding a plurality of types of caulking members for caulking the crimp terminals between the turntable and the various types of pressure receiving members. A desired pressure receiving member alternatively selected by the rotation of one turntable is moved to a pressure receiving position. A desired caulking member alternatively selected by the rotation of the other turntable is moved to a caulking waiting position opposed to the crimp terminal in the crimping position.
