Abstract: A pallet transfer system capable of smoothly transferring a pallet between a machine tool and a pallet conveying device is provided. The pallet transfer system includes an intermediated station to temporally place a pallet between a front ward position of a pallet stand-by position and the pallet stand by position. The pallet on a conveying plate at a stand-by position is carried to a temporary placing position by horizontally moving the conveying plate. Then the pallet is transferred to the intermediate position by being supported by lift arms which are raised from the conveying plate. Further, the pallet, supported by the lift arms, is transferred from the intermediate station to a stacker crane by advancing the stacker crane toward the intermediate station side and entered into an entering space below the pallet.

Abstract: In a pallet transfer apparatus, a base is reciprocably supported in a frame so that a hydraulic cylinder provided in the frame can drive the base. A pair of large-diameter sprockets and a pair of small-diameter sprockets are disposed on the upper and lower sides, respectively, of the frame, with a first and second endless roller chains fitted over the pairs of sprockets. The first endless roller chain includes a securing member which fixes the chain to the frame. The second endless roller chain has engaging member projected upward therefrom. In addition, a slider having a block in the intermediate part thereof is slidably mounted on a rail above the base. The engaging member engages the block. Moreover, the slider is provided with a catch for disconnectably engaging a hook of pallet P. When the base is driven by the hydraulic cylinder, the front small-diameter sprocket and the front large-diameter sprocket are integrally rotated since the first endless roller chain is fixed to the frame.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus comprises: a blank discriminating circuit to discriminate a blank from image information; a line discriminating circuit to discriminate line information from information of the discriminated blank; and a paragraph recognizing circuit to recognize paragraph information from the discriminated blank information and the discriminated line information. The apparatus recognizes not only character but also blanks from the input image information and generates a result in a desired form.

Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus for processing a designated area of an image includes storing image data, designating one or more rectangular areas in the image data, and storing data representative of the position of the designated rectangular areas. Once completion of designating of rectangular areas is detected, recognition of image data in the designated rectangular areas is commenced.
