  • Patent number: 6344621
Abstract: A switch housing (21) of a starter switch (Ss) is inserted into an opening (14) defined in a rear handlebar cover (1) in a motor vehicle, and a locking claw (212) projectingly provided on the switch housing (21) is locked in the opening (14) to fix the switch housing (21). When the switch housing (21) is inserted into the opening (14), a leaf spring-like terminal (242) of a stationary contact (24) exposed to a surface of the switch housing (21) comes into resilient abutment against a terminal (312) of a bus bar (31) exposed to the opening (14) in the rear handlebar cover (1), thereby automatically completing the connection of the starter switch (Ss) and the bus bar (31) to each other. Thus, it is possible to simply and reliably perform the operation of mounting the starter switch (Ss) to the rear handlebar cover (1) and the operation of electrically connecting the starter switch (Ss) to the bus bar (31).

  • Patent number: 5952729
Abstract: A junction box 2 is formed at a mounting portion of a meter unit 3 disposed at a central portion of a rear handlebar cover 1 in a motorcycle, and wire harnesses 12 and 14 connected to a vehicle body and a front handlebar cover are connected to the junction box 2. Bus bars 31 and 33 made of a metal plate or bar are integrally embedded within the rear handlebar cover made of a synthetic resin in order to electrically connect electric parts such as switches Ss, Sd, Sw, Sh and the like supported on left and right portions of the rear handlebar cover 1 and the junction box 2 to each other. Thus, it is possible to easily and reliably perform the wiring to the electric parts supported on the handlebar cover 1 in the motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 4838806
Abstract: An improved plug-and-receptacle electric connector arrangement designed such that in mating the plug connector and the receptacle connector, the plug connector is inserted at an angle within the receptacle connector until the front end of the plug has reached the rear end of the entry space of the receptacle connector. The plug connector is rotated about a fixed point of the receptacle connector until the plug connector has been put in alignment with the receptacle connector. Then, both mechanical and electrical connections are established between the mating units.
