  • Patent number: 8119209
Abstract: A method of forming a layer (12) of getter particles (11) on a glass part (10) includes contacting the getter particles with the glass part and irradiating the particles through the glass by a laser, thus heating the particles at a temperature greater than the softening temperature of the glass but lower than the melting temperature of the particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 2, 2007
Date of Patent: February 21, 2012
    Assignee: Saes Getters S.p.A.
    Inventor: Saverio Massimo Palladino
  • Patent number: 7994720
Abstract: A miniaturized high pressure discharge lamp containing a getter device is provided in which the getter device is positioned in such a way as to minimize or completely suppress the shadow effect with respect to the light emitted by the lamp burner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 20, 2006
Date of Patent: August 9, 2011
    Assignee: Saes Getters S.p.A.
Inventors: Alessio Corazza, Werner Jehr, Massimo Palladino
  • Patent number: 7871660
Abstract: A technique for manufacturing a device that includes a deposit of getter material on a support involves treating the support on which the getter material is formed with a caustic fluid. An aspect of the technique is that it may clean and/or chemically activate the getter material without substantial damage to the getter material. The getter material may be formed on an internal wall of the device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 12, 2004
Date of Patent: January 18, 2011
    Assignee: Saes Getters, S.p.A.
Inventors: Marco Moraja, Marco Amiotti, Costanza Dragoni, Massimo Palladino
  • Publication number: 20090011144
Abstract: A method of forming a layer (12) of getter particles (11) on a glass part (10) is described, consisting in contacting the getter particles with the glass part and radiating the particles through the glass by means of a laser, heating the particles at a temperature being greater than the softening temperature of the glass but lower than the melting temperature of the same particles.

  • Publication number: 20030006025
Abstract: An evacuated jacket for thermal insulation comprises a discontinuous or porous, organic or inorganic filling material arranged inside an envelope made with at least one multi-layer barrier sheet (1) of substantially rectangular shape, which comprises at least one polymeric or inorganic central layer (2) having barrier properties towards atmospheric gases, an upper layer (4) and a lower layer (3), both of a polymeric material. The polymeric material which forms said upper layer (4) and the polymeric material which forms said lower layer (3) of the barrier sheet (1) are mutually heat-sealable and said barrier sheet (1) is folded up so as to superimpose two opposite sides (5, 6) thereof which are welded to each other by melting said upper layer (4) at one margin (6) and said lower layer (3) at the other margin (5). The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing said evacuated jacket for thermal insulation.

  • Patent number: 5458813
Abstract: Method for introducing boron into dry, porous gels obtained by means of the "sol-gel" technique, consisting of contacting the concerned gel with a boron compound obtained in situ by causing suitable reactants in gas state to react with one another.
