Abstract: A vehicle-mounted storage apparatus equipped with a safety device to be used as a storage device for a vehicle-mounted compact cassette case, ashtray, glove box, coin case, cup holder, cup holder, etc. When an abrupt inertia force generated e.g. by a vehicle crushing is applied, the unlocking operation of the lock device is stopped to prevent the rid etc. from being projected into the vehicle compartment. The lock device is composed of a heart-shaped cam groove (160), a lock pin (170) for tracing the cam groove (160), and a pressing spring 180 for pressing the lock pin toward the bottom of the cam groove (160). A tapered surface (165) is formed for popping up the lock pin (170) from the bottom of the cam groove (160) against the pressing force of the pressing spring (180), by engaging with the lock pin (170) when the inertia force is applied.

Abstract: A lock device for keeping a movable body closed includes a cam lever and an inertia stopper. The cam lever serves to lock the movable body at a closed position by pushing the movable body inward to the closed position against a biasing force and to release the locked state of the movable body by further pushing the movable body inward, thereby permitting the movable body to move to an open position. The inertia stopper serves to prevent the cam lever from releasing the locked state of the movable body when the force of inertia is generated to push the movable body inward from the locked state.

Abstract: An apparatus for accommodating box-like articles is disclosed, which includes a case open at least at the front for permitting a plurality of box-like articles (e.g., cassettes) to be slidably accommodated through the front opening independently of one another and in a plurality of rows of disposed one above another, compression springs for independently forwardly urging the box-like articles accommodated in the case, a heart-like cam groove and locking pin for locking the box-like articles in their retreated positions in the case against the biasing forces of the springs, and a stopper (e.g., shoulder surface of the case, front edge of upper slide holder, upright surfaces of lower slide holder and rear wall surface of recessed portion) for stopping the box-like articles such that these in a row partly partly project outwardly from the opening of the case to a smaller extent than that in the next lower row.

Abstract: An umbrella container equipped in an automotive vehicle and used to store therein an umbrella for a vehicle passenger. The umbrella container is comprised of a cylindrical casing disposed between the inner and outer panels of a rear fender of the vehicle. The casing is formed at its one end with an umbrella entrance. A cylindrical umbrella support member is slidably disposed inside the casing to be displaceable within a certain range in the longitudinal direction of the casing. The umbrella support member is biased toward the umbrella entrance by means of a constant force spring. The umbrella support member can be selectively locked at a plurality of positions in the casing longitudinal direction upon insertion of the umbrella by means of a multiple state locking mechanism, thereby making possible to store a variety of umbrellas of different lengths.
