  • Publication number: 20240101742
Abstract: A living radical polymer that has a low molecular weight distribution and has a specific functional group at least at one end, and a resin-coated pigment has high dispersibility of a resin composition including the living radical polymer, is excellent in properties such as preservation stability, discharge stability, and color developability in a dispersed state, and is suitably used in a pigment dispersion. A living radical polymer has a specific functional group structure, the living radical polymer includes a polymerization initiator-derived specific organic compound moiety at one end or in a backbone of the living radical polymer and is obtained by reacting a radical generator having a specific functional group with at least any end, for example, an iodine end ascribable to a precursor. A living radical polymer composition includes the same; a resin-coated pigment is obtained by coating with the living radical polymer composition; and a method produces the living radical polymer.

  • Patent number: 5518119
Abstract: According to the present invention, in overwrapping an object to be packaged, the object is wrapped with a packaging material in such a manner as to form a tubular shape, which packaging material is heat-sealable on both sides thereof and, as required, has heat shrinkability or gas-barrier properties; the overlap portion of the packaging material is heat-sealed in a lap seal fashion: and an opening portion formed at each end of the lap seal line is heat-sealed. The lap-heat-sealed portion of the package thus obtained has a satisfactory strength with liquid leakage prevented, and the unevenness of this portion is inconspicuous. Further, respective sealed portions at both ends of the package exhibit a good appearance because of the absence of a folded portion. The resulting package is excellent in seal strength and appearance and hence highly valuable on a commercial basis.

  • Patent number: 5306549
Abstract: The present invention relates to a biaxially stretched film whose main component is a linear low density polyethylene showing, in measurement of a melting point by a differential scanning calorimeter, a main peak temperature (Tma) within the range of 118.degree..+-.5.degree. C. in a melting curve obtained when after a temperature of the polyethylene is kept at 190.degree. C. for 30 minutes, the temperature is dropped down to 20.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 100.degree. C./minute and subsequently raised at a heating rate of 10.degree. C./minute (hereinafter referred to as "melting curve after rapidly cooling") and showing a temperature difference between Tma and Tmb of at least 3.degree. C. wherein Tmb is a main peak temperature in a melting curve obtained when after the temperature of the polyethylene is kept at 190.degree. C. for 30 minutes, the temperature is dropped down to 20.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 10.degree. C./minute and subsequently raised at a heating rate of 10.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5132074
Abstract: A stretchable, heat shrinkable ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer film which has excellent stretchability as well as shrinkability at a low temperature and is useful as a good packaging material is prepared by melt extruding a composition including at least one ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer as a main component to give a non-stretched film and biaxially stretching the film in a temperature region where an orientation can be induced and at an area stretching ratio of not less than 8 under conditions such that a tensile strength is from 30 to 170 kg/cm.sup.2. The film has an index of refraction N of 1.500 to 1.522, a degree of orientation Wk according to X-ray diffraction method of 0.78 to 0.93 and an area shrinkage of not less than 15% at 90.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4747570
Abstract: A mount for securing an electronic instrument to a desired wall of a luggage compartment of an automotive vehicle such as a top or a side wall. As a housing of the instrument is slid into a generally U-shaped metal fixture with its guide grooves mated with guide pieces which are provided on both ends of "U" of the fixture, hooks positioned at both sides of the fixture are brought into locking engagement with recesses which are provided on the housing of the instrument, whereby the housing is locked to the fixture. Biased by a spring outward, the housing may be unlocked from the fixture simply by pulling a handle which is positioned at one side of the fixture.
