  • Publication number: 20240162507
Abstract: A battery, such as a traction battery for an electrified vehicle (EV), includes a battery sensor, such as a battery pack sensing module (BPSM), arranged internally within a housing of the battery. The battery further includes one or more battery cell arrays arranged within the housing. Each battery cell array including battery cells and a printed circuit board (PCB) electrically connected with voltage sense leads associated with the battery cells. The battery further includes a primary PCB arranged within the housing and electrically connected to the battery cell array PCBs. The battery sensor is electrically connected to the primary PCB to establish an electrical connection with the battery cell array PCBs whereby the battery sensor can sense the voltages of the battery cells.

  • Patent number: 11654883
Abstract: A vehicle includes a traction battery, an electric machine, a relay electrically between the traction battery and electric machine, and a controller. When closed, the relay completes an electrical circuit including the traction battery and electric machine. The controller selectively commands the relay to open based on a voltage across a coil of the relay and a current through the coil.

  • Publication number: 20210197744
Abstract: A vehicle includes power outlets configured to receive power from an inverter. The vehicle includes power sources configured to supply power to the inverter and a plurality of electrical systems. A controller is programmed to, responsive to detecting a load connected to one of the power outlets, change a maximum power limit of the electrical systems by an amount associated with the one of the power outlets.

  • Publication number: 20200047623
Abstract: A vehicle includes a charge plate configured to receive charge for a battery when positioned at a charge zone. The vehicle also includes a camera system and a controller programmed to cause the camera system to capture a calibration image at each of a plurality of indexed positions as the charge plate approaches the charge zone. The controller is also programmed to cause the camera system to capture a present image for at least one of the indexed positions, and prevent initiation of a charge procedure responsive to differences between the present image and a corresponding one of the calibration images exceeding a pixel variance threshold.
