To achieve a clearance free rotatable and axial connection between the coupling sleeve 6 and power take off shaft 4 or driving journal 5, the locking element via at least one locking face 15, at least partially engages an annular groove 12 of the power take off shaft 4 or driving journal 5 to provide a clearance free connection. The locking element may be a bolt 16 with a conical locking face 15 to engage the angular groove 12.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a threaded swivel connector (1) for connecting a housing (3) to a member (2) by means of a hollow bolt (7). For improving the sealing effect, there have been provided specially designed sealing edges (15) of a collar (8) of the bolt (7) to seal with the housing (3) and sealing edges (21, 25) of a sealing ring (18) between the housing (3) and the member (2) to be connected. The sealing edges (15, 21, 25) are formed between inclined annular faces (16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23), one at an acute angle to a plane (E1, E2, E3) at right angles to said axis and the other oppositely inclined at a greater angle.

    Abstract: A pre-assembly muff (12; 12a) for fitting a cutting or clamping ring (3) of a pipe coupling. Conventional muffs have a problem in that in service their dimensions change so that an accurate ring assembly ensuring accurate functioning is no longer possible. Only by checking the dimensions of the inner cone (13) of the pre-assembly muff is it possible to determine whether the end of the service life has been reached. The muff according to the invention has a wear resistant coating applied to its inner cone (13). The coating has a color which differs from that of the base material. If due to frequent use the colored coating is removed, the base material shines through. This is a sign for the user indicating that the end of the service life of the pre-assembly muff has been reached.

    Abstract: The securing and sealing of a connector 10 to a pipe 12 for a hydraulic connection comprises a pre-assembly step wherein a cutting/clamping ring 34 is secured to the pipe and a final assembly step wherein the ring 34 is sealed to a connector body 14. The axial force applied by a nut 20 to the ring 34 during the final assembly step is less than the axial force applied to the ring 34 during the pre-assembly step whereby no further cutting of the teeth 40 into the pipe is permitted but sealing takes place between cooperating conical surfaces 22 and 36 of the connector body and cutting/clamping ring respectively.

    Abstract: A connector assembly for establishing a fluid type connection with a pipe or tube having a body member with a bore for receiving the tube, a nut which is in threaded engagement on the body member and an intermediate ring compressed between the nut and the body member and having inwardly extending edge formations which cut into the tube in order to retain it within the connector, the intermediate ring being provided with radially outwardly extending axial ribs which cooperate with the body member and the nut to prevent unintentional overtightening of the nut. The ribs may have tapered stop faces which engage a tapered bore portion in the nut and a radial or tapered surface adapted to engage with the body member of the connector assembly.

    Abstract: An overload clutch which is prevented from unintentionally switching into the freewheeling position when rotational vibrations occur includes torque-transmitting members held in apertures of a first clutch member and adapted to be engaged in first recesses of a second clutch member for bringing the clutch into torque-transmitting engagement. A switching ring includes second recesses adapted to align with the apertures in the first clutch member when an overload condition occurs. A circumferentially acting spring tends to hold the switching ring in the torque-transmitting position and a securing pin is mounted in the first clutch member for engagement in a detent in the switching ring to hold the switching ring in torque-transmitting position. The securing pin is held in engagement with the detent by a spring but is arranged so as to extend into the detent a distance which will permit disengagement of the securing pin when a predetermined nominal torque of the clutch is exceeded.

    Abstract: In a wide angle universal joint wherein an inner double fork is connected with an outer fork having a pair of outer yokes by a trunion cross with spherical trunnions being provided for guiding the outer yokes and with a centering disc engaging the spherical trunnions with guides, the centering disc being secured against axial displacement but being radially movable, a lubricating system is provided which includes lubricating nipples on the trunnion cross for feeding lubricant into the system and lubricating channels extending through the trunnion cross and the spherical trunnions, with the lubricating channel in the trunnion cross having an output opening which corresponds with the input opening of a lubricating channel in the spherical trunnion at a position of the output yokes, with a sealing member being provided in one of the output or input openings. The sealing member may be a movable piston arranged in the output opening of the trunnion cross.

    Abstract: A device for locking a shaft in driving engagement within a sleeve including radially movable locking members mounted in the sleeve adapted to be held in a position to effect locked engagement with the shaft by an annular locking member operating to hold the spherical members radially in locking position relative to the sleeve. A helical spring is provided in engagement between the annular locking member and the sleeve and the spring includes first radial portions which engage the sleeve and second radial portions which engage the annular locking member in order to enable a large clearance to be provided between the sleeve and the annular locking member so that operation will not be adversely affected by accumulation of dirt.
