  • Publication number: 20230234691
Abstract: Provided is a pod propulsion system including first and second counter rotating propellers for propelling a marine vessel first and second propeller modules, each including an electric motor having a driving-end configured to rotate the first and second propellers, respectively. Also included are first and second gondolas, each (i) for housing a respective one of the first and second electric motors and (ii) including a boltable interface formed along a lengthwise direction of an extremity of the gondola. A strut (i) connects the first and second gondolas to a hull of the marine vessel (ii) including first and second boltable interfaces. Each of the boltable interfaces of the strut is configured to form a bolted joint interface with a corresponding one of boltable interfaces of the first and second gondolas.

  • Publication number: 20230234687
Abstract: The disclosure provides a pod propulsion system including first and second counter rotating propellers for providing thrust to propel a marine vessel. The pod propulsion system includes a first electric motor (i) for rotating the first propeller and (ii) electrically coupled to a first drive, the first drive being configured to control the first motor and a second electric motor (i) for rotating the second propeller and (ii) electrically coupled to a second drive, the second drive being configured to control the second motor. The first and second drives respectively control the first and second motors interdependently.

  • Patent number: 11381135
Abstract: Provided is a rotor for an asynchronous rotary electrical machine with non-through shaft that includes a cylindrical magnetic mass gripped between two mounting flanges of two half-shafts, a cooling means capable of cooling the rotor and conductive bars housed within the magnetic mass and distributed substantially uniformly over a diameter of the magnetic mass. The cooling means includes, for each conductive bar, at least one cooling channel, opening onto the conductive bar according to an axial direction and located within the magnetic mass and at least one through hole arranged within each conductive bar in such a way that the cooling channel communicates with at least one hole arranged on the outer periphery of the magnetic mass.

  • Patent number: 10236733
Abstract: A magnetic mass of an electric machine rotor extending along a longitudinal axis and comprising a plurality of housings, each housing being able to receive a respective electrically conductive bar. The magnetic mass further comprises, on at least one portion of its length along the longitudinal axis, at least one opening extending radially from one of the housings and opening outwards along a radial direction, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20180241286
Abstract: Provided is a cooling apparatus for an electric machine combined with an external fan or blower that includes a plurality of cooler tubes or plates spaced a predetermined distance apart within a chamber of the cooling apparatus. Internally circulating air of the electric machine flows through the cooler tubes and externally circulating air flows over the cooler tubes in a direction perpendicular or opposite that of the internally circulating air perform the cooling process. The velocity of externally circulated air is increased using cones and thus the Venturi effect is created. The fresh air enters the cooler from the adjacent openings due to Venturi effect and the total mixed air at lower temperature flows over the reminder of the tubes or plates to cool the internal circuit air, thus improves the cooler efficiency.
