The game session broker receives a session ready message that includes location information for a first player and search for a second player having location information matching the location information for the first player. Finding a matching player, the game session broker sends session available messages to wireless units associated with the first and second players. Session ready messages are sent and session available message are received via first wireless devices. Upon receiving the session available message, the first and second players can establish a wireless game session using their respective second wireless devices.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of managing access to digital content are described. In one aspect, a novel digital content access management system enables users to register previously owned digital content and, subsequently, allows users to access the registered content using any electronic device that is connected to the system. Digital content may be pushed or pulled from any electronic system that is connected to a network—no matter where it is located—to any other electronic system that is connected to a network. A novel business model, as well as a system and a method for implementing this model, also are described. In accordance with this business model, payments are made to content providers upon registration of the previously owned digital content. In this way, the monetary interests of content providers may be protected (even when a user registers borrowed digital content, for example), while enhancing the ability of users to interact with their licensed digital content.

    Abstract: The invention features an improved, photo hull based method of generating a three-dimensional representation of a visual scene based upon a set of multi-view reference images. In one aspect, a visual hull containing the visual scene is computed. Visibility of points on the computed visual hull with respect to each reference image is computed. Photo-consistency of points on the computed visual hull along rays back-projected from a desired view is computed based upon reference images having visibility of the points. A photo hull containing the visual scene is generated by stepping along each back-projected ray. The photo-consistent points visible in the desired view are colored using color information contained in reference images having visibility of the photo-consistent points.

In another aspect, a digital content distribution system includes two or more portable media devices and a license manager. Each of the portable media devices comprises a memory for storing digital content and a transceiver for wirelessly transmitting digital content to and wirelessly receiving digital content from another portable media device.
