Abstract: A table-mounted sensor assembly for determining a status of a workspace, desk or table includes: a motion and/or proximity sensor; a wireless transceiver for wireless communication with an external unit, such as a gateway; a processing unit; a local user interface for manually setting a state of the table-mounted sensor assembly; and a battery for powering the motion and/or proximity sensor, the wireless transceiver, the processing unit and the local user interface, wherein the table-mounted sensor assembly comprises at least a dirty state, an occupied state, and a clean state. The processing unit is configured to set the table-mounted sensor assembly in one of the dirty state, occupied state and clean state based on motion and/or proximity sensor data from the motion and/or proximity sensor and user input data from the local user interface to determine the status of the workspace.

An elongated sensor assembly for detecting a change of state comprising at least one sensor switch configured to detect a given state and a change of state between the given state and at least one other state, a microprocessor configured to detect the change of state of the at least one sensor switch, an antenna system, a wireless transmitter configured to receive a signal from the microprocessor identifying a change of the state of the at least one sensor switch and transmit the signal by means of the antenna system, and a power source for providing electric power, wherein the at least one sensor switch, the microprocessor, the antenna system, the wireless transmitter, and the power source are incorporated in the elongated sensor assembly having a maximum height of less than 5 mm.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for distributing multimedia files units are disclosed. In an exemplary method, a plurality of multimedia files are downloaded using a transportation provider wireless device associated with a fare-based transport vehicle, such as a taxi, bus, ferry, or airplane. The downloaded multimedia files are stored in a data storage unit operatively connected to the transportation provider wireless device. In response to passenger input data received from a passenger wireless device, a desired multimedia file selected by the passenger is transferred to the passenger wireless device or played back using local speakers and/or video displays. In some embodiments, a selected multimedia file is associated with digital rights management information regulating authorized uses of the file.

Abstract: A method aims at identifying, starting from objects in a digital image, a virtual raster included in a coding pattern. The objects in the image at least partially reproduce marks on a base, each mark being associated with a respective point of intersection of raster lines belonging to the virtual raster. The method comprises the steps of matching sets of objects against a cell unit, which corresponds to a recurring known basic element of said raster; when a set corresponds with the cell unit, identifying the objects in the set as approved; and reconstructing the virtual raster on the basis of the mutual arrangement of the approved objects. A computer program, a storage medium and a device for position determination are also described.

Abstract: In an information code which is arranged to redundantly code at least one first information element by means of a first information element, one or more of the marks can be omitted for the coding of at least one additional information element. In addition, copy protection can be created for an information code that codes at least one first information element by means of a plurality of marks by the addition of at least one interference mark whose optical characteristics differ from those of the marks in the information code. After copying, all the marks will have the same optical characteristics.

Abstract: A method of providing a position code on a surface, which position code codes a plurality of positions on the surface. A cyclic number series is used, which has the characteristic that the position in the number series of each number sequence of a first predetermined length is determined unambiguously. The number series is printed out a plurality of times across the surface, different rotations of the first cyclic number series being used so that displacements arise between adjacent number series. The surface is divided into a plurality of code windows, which comprise at least three number series and have one number series overlapping one number series of adjacent code windows. The position of the code windows in the x-direction is coded by means of the displacements between the cyclic number series belonging to the code window. A second number series is used for coding in the y-direction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for communication of subscriber identity module related data in a wireless communication system. The arrangement comprises a wireless communication terminal with a subscriber identity unit which includes a subscriber identity module, to which a subscriber identity is assigned. The present invention also relates to a method for communication of subscriber identity module related data in a wireless communication system for implementation in a wireless communication terminal having a subscriber identity unit. The subscriber identity unit is arranged to communicate the subscriber identity module related data, such as, for example the subscriber identity, to the terminal over a local wireless communication link. The arrangement according to the present invention makes it possible to separate the subscriber identity unit from the terminal while the terminal is communicating using the wireless system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements pertaining to mobile telephone modems. According to the invention, the mobile telephone modem includes memory means in which one or more ranking orders of data bearer services is/are stored. In response to a call request, one of the stored ranking orders is selected. If only one ranking order is stored, this ranking order will, of course, be selected. Calling is first carried out with the highest ranked data bearer service in the selected ranking order. If a call connection is not made, it is determined on the basis of an error message from the mobile telephone network whether or not the highest ranked data bearer service is supported by the mobile telephone network.

Abstract: A portable communication apparatus (1) has a movable cover (16) with a liquid crystal display (19, 20) mounted thereon. The liquid crystal display (19, 20) is double-sided in at least one part (20), hence showing the information both from a front side and from a back side (21). This part of the display (20) is transmissive, and the rest of the display (19) is either reflective or transflective. The information is viewable through a window (22) in the cover (16) when the cover (16) is closed. As soon as the cover (16) changes positions from closed to opened, or from opened to closed, the information will be rotated 180°, so that the information will appear correctly. The portable communication apparatus has means (30, 31) and steps for the rotation of information, which automatically will be initiated, when the position of the cover (16) is detected by a controller (30).

Abstract: A system enabling a mobile station to provide combined mobile telephony and remote control terminal functionalities is disclosed. A mobile station includes functionalities enabling the mobile station to communicate with a Public Land Mobile Network. Furthermore, command and communication and local communications functionalities enable the mobile station to remotely control a variety of peripheral devices through user provided inputs.
