  • Patent number: 11884033
Abstract: A method and a related station for applying a sensing device to a tyre are described. A tape-shaped support with removably fixed sensing devices is advanced, to feed the sensing devices in sequence. A handling device is then rigidly coupled to a sensing device, maintaining at least a portion of an adhesion surface of the sensing device removably fixed to a support. The sensing device is then completely separated from the support, taken away by the handling device, and applied to an inner surface of a tyre by the handling device.

    Assignee: PIRELLI TYRE S.P.A.

  • Publication number: 20210070117
Abstract: A tyre monitoring device comprises an electronic unit enclosed in an encapsulation material. The encapsulation material forms a single body with an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion encloses and protects the electronic unit and the lower portion has a base surface aimed at fixing said device to the inner surface of the tyre.

  • Publication number: 20190329609
Abstract: A device for securing an electronic unit to a tyre comprises a base formed by a layer of elastomeric material on which—by means of a structural adhesive—a module comprising the electronic unit is glued. The lower surface of the elastomeric material base, opposite to the surface the module is glued to, and which is intended for being glued to the tyre's surface, is instead coated by means of a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). It has also an area which is greater than the surface area of the module glued to the base.

  • Patent number: 8650861
Abstract: A method for inducing the regeneration of a particulate filter associated with an exhaust gas emitting engine while being operated in a vehicle in variable driving conditions. The method includes turning on, for a time period, a heating device in physical contact with the filter subject to the following conditions: i) an average pressure of the exhaust gas at the entrance of the filter is greater than a predetermined value; and ii) an instantaneous pressure of the exhaust gas at the entrance of the filter is at a high improbable value. The time period for such heating device to stay turned on is sufficiently long to reach the particulate ignition temperature and for such instantaneous pressure to get from such high improbable value to a significantly lower value. The average pressure is obtained by averaging a plurality of pressure data sensed at the entrance of the filter.

  • Patent number: 8584446
Abstract: A method of controlling the regeneration of a particulate filter adapted to filter particulate matter present in exhaust emissions of an engine of a vehicle. The particulate filter is coupled to a heating device adapted to be activated so as to cause the heating of the particulate filter. The method includes sensing at least one operating parameter of the particulate filter, receiving sensed data relating to the at least one sensed operating parameter and conditioning the activation of the heating device based on a comparison of the received data with at least one respective threshold. The method further includes adjusting a value of the at least one threshold based on an operating condition of the vehicle, the operating condition being detected based on the received sensed data.

  • Publication number: 20110138775
Abstract: A method for inducing the regeneration of a particulate filter associated with an exhaust gas emitting tinning engine while being operated in a vehicle in variable driving conditions. The method includes turning on, for a time period, a heating device substantially in punctual contact with the filter at its gas entrance. The turning on of the heating device is subject to the following conditions: i) an average pressure of the exhaust gas at the entrance of the filter is greater than a predetermined value; and ii) an instantaneous pressure of the exhaust gas at the entrance of the filter is at a high improbable value. The time period for such heating device to stay turned on is sufficiently long to reach the particulate ignition temperature and for such instantaneous pressure to get from such high improbable value to a significantly lower value. The avenge pressure is obtained by averaging a plurality of pressure data sensed at the entrance of the filter.
