  • Patent number: 9149942
Abstract: A shaving apparatus has at least one shaving head with at least one cutter, a trimmer, and a drive structure including a motor for driving the cutter or cutters and the trimmer. The trimmer is disengageable from the drive structure. At least a portion of the drive structure may be rotated in reverse directions between a first sense of rotation and a second, opposite, sense of rotation. A unidirectional clutch is arranged between the portion of the drive structure of which the sense of rotation is reversible and the cutter or cutters. When the sense of rotation is reversed from the sense of rotation in which the cutter or cutters is driven, the trimmer may be driven without driving the cutter or cutters.

  • Patent number: 9126345
Abstract: A domestic appliance includes a functional action unit which has at least one movably arranged member, and a generator configured to generate electric energy at the location of the functional action unit. The generator is associated with the movably arranged member, and employs movement of this member in a process of generating electric energy. The generator includes a permanent magnet and an electric coil, where the magnet may be mounted on the movably arranged member. By having the generator at a location inside the functional action unit, it is possible to have one or more electric components at a location inside this unit without the need for external electric connections.

  • Patent number: 9009978
Abstract: A shaver includes a shaving unit having e.g., three shaving elements. Each shaving element accommodates a cutter member for cutting off hairs. Each shaving element further accommodates a gear wheel which is part of a transmission for coupling a drive shaft for driving the cutter member to an output shaft of a motor of the shaver. A top side of a space where the gear wheel is located is covered by a partition, where only the drive shaft extends through this partition. Each shaving element can be individually opened by removing a top portion of the shaving element, including the cutter member, from a base portion of the shaving element where the gear wheel, the drive shaft and the partition are located. An opening system may be provided to open all the shaving elements in one action by reversal of the direction of rotation of the output shaft, for example.

  • Patent number: 7269902
Abstract: A shaving apparatus has shaving heads (3) each having an internal cutting member (6) and an associated external cutting member (4); and a drive structure (1) coupled to each of the internal cutting members (6). The external cutting members (4) are each rotatable about an axis of rotation (15) between different shaving positions. The shaving face of each head includes a first shaving field (7) for cutting short hair and a second shaving field (8) for cutting long hair. The shaving fields (7, 8) extend through different segment of the shaving face. For effecting rotation of the external cutting members (4) between the shaving positions, a control member (11) is arranged between the shaving heads (3) and engages the external cutting members (4) of the shaving heads (3) for simultaneously controlling the rotation of the external cutting members (4) of the shaving heads (3).
