  • Patent number: 9545276
Abstract: An internal plate fixation device is provided for load bearing and non-load bearing fixation on a plantar side of a metatarsocuneiform joint in a Lapidus procedure. The fixation device includes a U-shaped plate having a plantar section interconnecting a pair of opposed medial legs which are bent relative to the plantar section. The plantar section is formed with a set of threaded fixation holes for receiving locking screws therein. The legs are formed with a set of threaded fixation holes for receiving locking screws therein, and a set of non-threaded fixation holes for receiving temporary K-wires and an interfragmentary compression screw which provides compression and stability at the joint.

  • Patent number: 6844237
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a shallow trench isolation (STI) method (500) may include forming an etch mask layer over both a first and second substrate side (504). An etch mask layer over a first substrate side (506) may be patterned to form a STI etch mask, and trenches may be etched into a substrate (508). A trench dielectric layer can be formed over a first substrate side (510). An etch mask layer formed over a second substrate side can be etched (512), reducing and/or eliminating stress that may deform a substrate or otherwise adversely affect STI features. A trench dielectric may then be chemically-mechanically polished (step 514).

  • Patent number: 6578905
Abstract: The invention provides a stowable ladder mechanism for an overhead bed or upper berth in a bunk bed. A horizontal linear guide is vertically spaced above a horizontal support surface and associated with a bed or berth. The rungs of the ladder are supported between two vertical uprights, one of which is fixed at one end of the berth and the second of which is coupled to the horizontal linear guide and translates across the horizontal support surface along one side of the bed. The plurality of rungs include swing sections mounted on hinges which hang vertically when the translatable vertical upright is positioned adjacent to the fixed vertical upright. When the translatable upright is positioned away from the fixed upright, the swing sections are supported in a horizontal position.
