  • Patent number: 11958374
Abstract: An electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) is provided with an integrated arc fault detection circuit interruption (AFCI) device to supply electricity to an electric vehicle (EV) being a load. The EVSE comprises a coupler and an AFCI device including: a controller including a processor and a memory, circuitry and computer-readable firmware code stored in the memory which, when executed by the processor, causes the controller to: detect an arcing level of arcing between the coupler and a charge port of the EV or any other series or parallel arcing within the EVSE, compare the arcing level to a threshold level to determine a hazardous nature of arching, and analyze the arcing level to determine not only if it is currently hazardous but if it is likely to become hazardous in a near term and recommend repair or replacement of the coupler and the charge port before damage occurs.

  • Patent number: 10484479
Abstract: Quantum processing devices are integrated with conventional distributed computing paradigms. In one aspect, ideas from classical distributed and high-performance computing are brought into the quantum processing domain. Various architectures and methodologies enable the bilateral integration of quantum processing devices and distributed computers. In one aspect, a system is composed of a high-level API and library, a quantum data model, and a set of software processes to prepare this data model for computation on a quantum processing device and to retrieve results from the quantum processing device. This provides a way for distributed computing software frameworks to integrate one or more quantum processing devices into their workflow.

  • Publication number: 20170372427
Abstract: An improved method uses quantum processing devices to optimize a portfolio of financial assets. In one approach, a list of lots available for purchase is received. Each lot specifies financial assets included in the lot and a price to purchase the lot. A budget for the portfolio is also received. An objective function is formulated based on the list of lots and on the budget. The objective function has a form suitable for solution by a quantum processing device, which is used to optimize the objective function, thereby determining which lots are to be purchased.

  • Publication number: 20170372412
Abstract: An improved method uses quantum processing devices to determine optimal sets of bids in combinatorial auctions. In one approach, a list of bids is received. Each bid specifies a price for a package of one or more items offered in the auction. The bids may be conflicting. An objective function based on the list of bids is formulated. The objective function has a form suitable for solution by a quantum processing device, which is used to optimize the objective function, thereby determining which bids are accepted.
