Publication number: 20240139050Abstract: A patient support apparatus for use in treating patients with behavioral health indicia, including a base supporting wheels for movement along a floor surface, a litter for supporting a patient, and a lift mechanism to move the litter relative to the base between a lowered position and a raised position. A skirt barrier having a bottom edge defining a periphery is operatively attached to the litter for concurrent movement with the litter between an exposed configuration and a shield configuration. The exposed configuration corresponds to the raised position and is defined with the bottom edge spaced vertically above the base. The shield configuration corresponds to the lowered position and is defined with the bottom edge arranged adjacent to the floor surface and with the periphery extending around the base to at least partially limit external access to the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Matthew A. Patent number: 11918517Abstract: A cover system for selectively blocking insertion of unauthorized objects through an aperture of a restraint mount of a patient support apparatus is provided. The cover system includes a cover and an instrument having an interface. The cover includes a brace and a restrictor coupled to the brace. The brace attaches to the patient support apparatus adjacent to the aperture and the restrictor operates in a restrict mode blocks access to the aperture and a permit mode where the restrictor permits access to the aperture. The cover also includes a lock mechanism, which includes a keeper movable between a locked state where movement of the restrictor is inhibited and an unlocked state where movement of the restrictor is permitted. The keeper moves from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to selective engagement between the interface of the instrument and a receiver of the lock mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Michael W. Graves, Matthew A. Cutler, Anish Paul, Christopher Ryan Sweeney

Patent number: 11806291Abstract: A patient support apparatus comprises a support frame and a patient support deck carried by the support frame. The patient support deck has a foot section configured to articulate relative to the support frame. A deck extension assembly comprises an extension frame and a deck extension section configured to extend and retract relative to the support frame. One more bearings are arranged between the deck extension section and the support frame. The deck extension section is movably coupled to the extension frame so that the deck extension section is able to move relative to the extension frame and relative to the foot section when the deck extension section extends and retracts relative to the support frame such that the deck extension section maintains contact with the bearing when extending and retracting relative to the support frame.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2022Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Matthew A. Cutler, David Scharich, III, Anish Paul

Publication number: 20230346615Abstract: A patient support apparatus for use in treating patients with behavioral health indicia. The patient support apparatus includes a support structure with a patient support deck defining a patient support surface having one or more ligature risk locations arranged outside of a ligature safety zone defined relative to the patient support surface. A sensor system is coupled to the support structure to generate data representing load acting on the support structure. A controller is disposed in communication with the sensor system and is configured to issue a ligature risk event alert in response to the data generated by the sensor system satisfying a predetermined load criteria indicating a distribution of load acting on the support structure outside of the ligature safety zone for a predetermined period.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Applicant: Stryker CorporationInventors: Lavanya Vytla, Matthew A. Patent number: 11727366Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a memory of a dispatch server and a processor of the dispatch server communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to receive an indication of a blockchain transaction to monitor; the blockchain transaction having not yet been finalized by a blockchain. The processor is configured to store the indication of the blockchain transaction in a state monitor cache communicatively coupled to the blockchain such that a state monitor queries the blockchain for a status of the blockchain transaction based on the indication of the blockchain transaction being stored within the state monitor cache. The processor is configured to provide the status of the blockchain transaction to a user in response to receiving an indication of the status of the blockchain transaction.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2020Date of Patent: August 15, 2023Assignee: BlockNative CorporationInventors: Matthew Cutler, Chris Meisl, Ryan Angilly, Niel Robertson
