  • Patent number: 11830581
Abstract: An iterative process for optimizing one or more parameters used by a k-mer based de novo genome assembler program to assemble a set of sequenced nucleic acids is described. The method utilizes quality metrics whose desired values are initially specified. Computed values of the quality metrics are calculated during the assembly process and compared to the desired values. The assembly process stops when the computed values are not desired values. After modification of one or more of the parameters (e.g., k-mer value), the assembly process re-initiates using the modified parameter set. This process repeats until the computed values of the quality metrics meet the desired values. The final parameter set is then used to generate or complete one or more final assembled genomes.

  • Patent number: 11830580
Abstract: A large collection of sample genomes containing misclassified k-mers and metadata errors from a reference taxonomy was converted to a self-consistent k-mer database comprising a self-consistent taxonomy. The self-consistent taxonomy was based on genetic distances calculated using the MinHash method or the Meier-Koltoff method. An agglomerative clustering algorithm was used to calculate the self-consistent taxonomy. Each k-mer of the sample genomes was assigned to only one node of the self-consistent taxonomy. In another step, each node of the self-consistent taxonomy was mapped to the reference taxonomy, thereby preserving in the self-consistent taxonomy links to the reference taxonomy while correcting for the misclassification errors therein. The self-consistent k-mer database can be used to taxonomically profile sequenced nucleic acids with greater specificity compared to systems relying on the reference taxonomy.

  • Publication number: 20230361998
Abstract: A method of distributing a real-life product version of a cryptographic digital asset includes modifying an attribute of the cryptographic digital asset based on a received input, the cryptographic digital asset being registered on a distributed blockchain ledger and including a plurality of attributes with at least one of the plurality of attributes being an attribute that is capable of modification. The modification being operative to transition the cryptographic digital asset through one or more stages of evolution. The method further includes unlocking the real-life product version of the cryptographic digital asset upon reaching a specific stage of evolution, and providing the user with the ability to purchase the unlocked real-life product version.

  • Patent number: 11809498
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for reducing the size of a k-mer reference database used for queries and/or taxonomic classifications when available computer storage and/or memory are inadequate. The k-mers of the reference database have been previously classified to a taxonomy, preferably based on genetic distances. In one method, the k-mers are separated into one or more groups followed by removing k-mers common to the groups. In another method, k-mers are removed based on a selected taxonomic threshold level. A third method combines the features of the previous two methods. The methods are adaptable to machine learning.

  • Publication number: 20230346536
Abstract: An embolic filter positioning system includes a vascular delivery sheath, a filter catheter, a self-expanding embolic filter attached to a distal end of the filter catheter, and an elongate dilator having a tapered dilator tip. The elongate dilator is slidably received in a central lumen of the filter catheter, and the filter catheter is slidably received in the open lumen of the vascular delivery sheath. The tapered dilator tip is positioned distally of the distal end of the vascular delivery sheath, and the self-expanding embolic filter is radially constrained in a proximal portion of the open lumen of the vascular delivery sheath. The tapered dilator tip has an expanded configuration where it covers the open distal end of the vascular delivery sheath and facilitates entry though an arteriotomy and a contracted configuration where it can be retracted through the central lumen of the filter catheter.

  • Publication number: 20230351489
Abstract: A method of event-based distribution of a cryptographically secured digital asset includes receiving, from a computing device associated with a user, an indication that the computing device is located at a predetermined venue within a predetermined window of time, receiving an indication that a conditional triggering event has occurred during the predetermined window of time, receiving, from the computing device, a unique owner identification (ID) code associated with the user, and transmitting a request to record a transfer of the cryptographically secured digital asset to the user on a distributed blockchain ledger. The request comprises both a unique digital asset ID code and the unique owner ID code, and transmitting the request to record the transfer of the cryptographically secured digital asset on the distributed blockchain ledger occurs only after the indication is received that the conditional event has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20230252559
Abstract: Aspects described herein may allow for receiving, by a detection server, a plurality of configuration parameters, wherein each configuration parameter includes a type of a risk and an associated level of the risk, with a corresponding automated remediation action for each configuration parameter. A remediation management framework authenticates the detection server for access to the remediation management framework and initiates a scanning of a system of interest, based on the plurality of configuration parameters, by the detection server, to identify one or more risk findings. The remediation management framework receives the identified one more risk findings; and matches each of the one or more risk findings with the plurality of configuration parameters, which then triggers by the remediation management framework, the corresponding automated remediation action associated with each of the one or more risk findings.
