Abstract: A rifle is provided. The rifle comprises a barrel, a handguard partly axially surrounding the barrel, and a modular accessory system. The modular accessory system comprises a housing and a modular accessory support system positioned within the housing, wherein the support system includes at least two modular accessory slots. The modular accessory system also comprises a modular accessory removably secured and individually adjustable within each slot. The housing partly axially surrounds the barrel and is positioned axially adjacent to the handguard such that a combination of the handguard and the housing surrounds the barrel completely in an axial manner. Support system configurations of preferably either tray-type or platform-type may be contemplated. The modular accessory system may further comprise a common power source and a display system. A modular accessory system for rifles capable of exchangeably mounting accessories thereto in plug-and-play fashion is therefore achieved.

Abstract: An imaging system is provided. The imaging system comprises a stand, adapter, and imaging device that allows for a imaging device's housing bottom to be free of female threaded holes for attaching to the stand, by positioning the female threaded hole within an adapter which is exterior of the imaging device's housing. The adapter does not occupy precious imaging device housing interior real estate thereby allowing the housing to be extremely compact. The imaging device comprises a mating system that removably secures the adapter. The imaging device is therefore removably secured to the stand via the adapter.

The fastener includes an elongated auxiliary member secured interiorly to, exteriorly to, or along the shaft of the fastener. The auxiliary member is secured to the shaft at two or more portions of the shaft. The auxiliary member provides the shaft with additional support strength and/or enables fastened materials to be retained upon breakage or shearing of the shaft as a result of, for example, heavy tensile or shearing loads. To facilitate breakage or shearing of the shaft, the shaft may be provided with a deformation, such as a notch or reduced circumference, at one or more desired locations such that the shaft breaks or shears at the deformation(s), thereby allowing the auxiliary member to function as the sole member which retains the fastened materials.
