    Abstract: A method of modifying a commercially available spray gun to enable its use in the application of polymeric coatings such as CARC paint incorporates the steps of removing the existing threaded bottle closure and replacing it with another bottle closure using procedures which maintain the integrity of the closure and the spray gun. The replacement bottle closure may be affixed to the spray gun using fasteners, adhesives or induction welding.
