  • Publication number: 20150275703
Abstract: Systems, methods, and tangible non-transitory machine readable medium are provided. A system includes a gas turbine system configured to produce power by combusting a fuel. The system further includes a controller configured to control the gas turbine system via an operating 2-dimensional surface area and a setpoint, wherein the operating 2-dimensional surface area comprises a plurality of limits defining bounds for the operating 2-dimensional surface area, and wherein the setpoint is configured to be disposed inside the operating 2-dimentionsal surface area or on the limits.

  • Patent number: 8914134
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the invention may include systems and methods for predicting transient operational characteristics of a power plant. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method is provided for predicting transient operational characteristics of a power plant. The method can include receiving operating information associated with the power plant; using a power plant dynamics model for determining a current operating state of the power plant based at least in part on the received operating information; and using the power plant dynamics model and a power plant controls model for predicting one or more future operating parameters associated with power plant based at least in part on the determined current operating state and the received operating information.

  • Patent number: 6836332
Abstract: An instrument for testing fluid characteristics has a vial and a housing. The vial defines a chamber for receiving a sample of the fluid and has a cap for sealing the fluid therein. The housing defines a recess for receiving the vial. Multiple light emitting diodes and photovoltaic detectors are arranged on multiple meridional planes within the housing. The meridional planes each intersect approximately at a central axis of the chamber when the vial is placed within the recess. Modulation of the light emitting diodes and tuned processing electronics allow for simultaneous evaluation of sample characteristics such as spectral transmittance, turbidity and fluorescence. The user selects particular tests via a keypad and a display indicates the results of the chosen analysis.

  • Patent number: 5918918
Abstract: A yieldable plastic collar is mounted on the latch housing to surround the entry recess of the housing and be engaged by the striker to thereby isolate the striker from noise producing contact with the housing. The plastic collar has a base portion attached to the housing and a striker contacting portion projecting from the base portion into the entry recess of the latch housing. The contacting portion is connected to the base portion by an integrally molded living hinge so that the contacting portion yields to remain in full time contacting engagement with the striker irrespective of shifting movement or misalignment between the housing and the striker.
