  • Patent number: 7641778
Abstract: A gel electroelution device can have a gel spot column having upstream and downstream openings in fluid communication with an inlet and outlet, respectively. The gel spot column receives a gel spot and negative and positive electrodes are fluid communication with the inlet and outlet, respectively. A gel electroelution process can involve flowing a buffer solution through the gel spot in a first direction, and creating an electric field across the gel spot in the same direction. A separator device can have a generally cylindrical collection reservoir in fluid communication with inlet, filtrate, and retentate ports, a filter intermediate the inlet and filtrate ports. The inlet and retentate ports can intersect the collection reservoir in a manner to induce a cyclonic flow. A flow separation process can involve inducing a generally cyclonic flow in the collection reservoir, and filtering the fluid therein to retain the retentate.

  • Publication number: 20090308559
Abstract: A hollow jewelry pendant or bead formed by investment casting is disclosed. The method of manufacture consists of producing a mold usually consisting of metal, silicone or rubber containing a cavity for injecting an inner soluble core. A geometric lock is also formed as part of the injection core which will orientate the core both laterally and radially. This core will define the inner surface or hollow portion of the pendant as well as form the bail or hole through which the chain will slide. A second mold is produced usually consisting of metal, silicone or rubber containing a cavity into which the soluble core will be placed with the lock positioning the core so as to insure proper orientation. This is critical for consistent wall thickness and matching of design features. The cavity also allows for a wax or plastic material suitable for investment casting to be injected around the soluble core.

  • Patent number: 7600265
Abstract: A system and method of applying a permission model to an application operating on a mobile electronic device. When an application is launched on the mobile electronic device, it is determined whether the mobile electronic device possesses execution rights for the application. If the mobile electronic device does not possess valid execution rights for the application, the application is closed. If valid execution rights for the application expire after the application has been launched, a system is provided to inform the user that the rights have expired. The application with expired rights is then closed, unless the user obtains a new and valid rights object for the application.

  • Patent number: 7528368
Abstract: A process for ionizing a liquid can comprising flowing the liquid through a capillary wire bonding tip and applying sufficient voltage to electrospray the liquid sample as it exits therefrom. The electrospray ionization process can further involve passing a liquid sample through an axially disposed aperture in a ceramic capillary wire bonding tip in which the terminus of the aperture flares into a bell-shape where the liquid sample exits therefrom. An add-on device can include gel electroelution and separating devices, and a ceramic capillary sample injection tip for carrying out the aforesaid electrospray ionization process. An adjustably mounted cartridge can also be provided with the add-on device for interchangeably receiving the ceramic capillary sample injection tip.

  • Patent number: 7523162
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a communication network. The system comprises a ‘network-connected server having input and access capabilities, a site builder, a transmitter, a communicator, and memory. The site-builder receives instructions input from a first user and creates a dedicated network site based on the received instructions. The transmitter communicates the existence of the dedicated network site to a nominated second user. The communicator provides accesses to the contents of the dedicated network site by the first and second users. The memory stores information input by the first and the second user in the dedicated network site.

  • Publication number: 20080132189
Abstract: A receiver (200) includes a mixing digital-to-analog converter (DAC) (208), a direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS), a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) (204) and a first polyphase filter (PPF) (202). The mixing DAC (208) includes a radio frequency (RF) transconductance section for providing an RF current signal responsive to an RF signal and a switching section. The switching section is coupled to the RF transconductance section and includes inputs for receiving bits associated with a digital local oscillator (LO) signal. The switching section is configured to mix the RF current signal with the digital LO signal to provide an analog output signal at outputs of the switching section. The transimpedance amplifier (TIA) (204) includes inputs each coupled to a respective one of the outputs of the switching section and outputs. The first PPF (202) includes inputs each coupled to a respective one the outputs of the TIA (204).

  • Publication number: 20060080351
Abstract: A MIDlet Suite comprising one or more encrypted installation files is determined at a sending terminal device. A distribution description file comprising Super Distribution identification information for the MIDlet Suite is generated. A non-encrypted distribution archive file comprising the distribution description file and the MIDlet Suite is generated. The distribution archive file is transmitted to a receiving terminal device. The distribution description file is extracted and the extracted distribution description file is parsed in order to obtain the Super Distribution identification information. The MIDlet Suite is extracted from the distribution archive file, and installation information is displayed. Thus the receiving device is able to verify the contents of a received MIDlet Suite before the acquisition of an associated Rights Object, and the user can make a more informed decision whether to acquire the associated Rights Object or not.

  • Publication number: 20050289190
Abstract: This invention describes a method for indexing, retrieval and managing of stored messages using a meta-data approach in a portable communication device such as a mobile electronic device or a mobile phone. Main implementation stages to achieve this can include (but are not limited to): calculating and storing of meta-data for a new message when the new message is received; indexing of all messages into all supported hierarchies using their meta-data; and using a user interface to facilitate displaying supported hierarchies and retrieving desired messages. The invention idea is to store all the desired meta-data related to every message stored in the message storage area of the portable communication device and to provide dynamic capabilities for indexing said meta-data into existing and possibly newly created hierarchies and to provide a fast retrieval of the messages by effectively managing said hierarchies.
