  • Patent number: 11571101
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a blowervac device having a grill that requires to distinct steps in securing the grill over a fan to activate a safety switch allowing power to the motor. The grill has an outer ring and a rotatable inner cover. The first step is simply to secure the grill over the fan. The second step requires the cover to be rotated, which activates an actuator for the safety switch, allowing power to be delivered to the motor and operation of the device. This two-step process reduces the likelihood if inadvertent operation of the device and reduces the chances of injury.

  • Publication number: 20220408650
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a battery powered mower with a low profile design that minimizes the height of the mower to make the mower easier to operate and store. The low profile design places the cutting blade motor in the center of the deck volute so that it doesn't extend above the volute. Additionally, the batteries do not include a cover and so holes are located within the housing to drain away any water that collects. The invention also covers a simplified manufacturing process for the terminal blocks for the battery and a rear door. Lastly, the invention includes a cable guide to prevent the electrical cable from pinching when the handle is folded for storage.

  • Patent number: 11432479
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a string trimmer having a blower feature incorporated therein. The string trimmer has a cutting head for holding a spool with cutting line. The cutting line is rotated at high speed to cut grass and other vegetation. The cutting head also includes a fan for generating an airflow to act as a blower. The string trimmer can be operated in two modes. In a first mode, both the fan and the spool housing are engaged with the motor so that the rotation of the spool housing performs a cutting operation. In a second mode, the motor engages only the fan to blow air, and the spool housing is disengaged so no cutting operation is performed.

  • Patent number: 10537057
Abstract: A spool assembly includes a spool formed of a central section including a core wall containing a core and passages extending through the core wall, an upper flange located at an upper portion of the central section, a lower flange located at a lower portion of the central section, and a protrusion section integral with the central section and extending above the upper flange. The protrusion section includes a cut-out formed inside the protrusion section, the cut-out having a non-circular shape adapted to be securely engaged to a drive member of a motor.

  • Patent number: 7523144
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for controlling access to data files stored in a repository is disclosed. The invention entails a determination of the requested file's availability and the authorization and authentication of the requester. A requester may specify the format in which they wish to receive the data file, and facilities are provided for translating the requested file to the requested format if the file is not stored in the requested format. Advantageously, the invention provides a repository for retaining responses to requests so as to minimize successive requests against the repository for the same data file. Moreover, in such instances wherein a requested data file requires a format translation, a facility is provided for determining the correct stored file format to use as the input for the format translation. Such a determination may be based upon criteria such as minimizing data lost as a result of the translation or minimizing processing required in performing the translation.

  • Patent number: 7509319
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for controlling access to data files stored in a repository is disclosed. The method includes receiving a request for a data file from a requester. The request specifies a data format preference for receiving the data file. The requested data format is different than either of a data format used to create the data file and a data format in which the data file is stored at the time of the request. The method also includes determining if the requester is authorized to access the requested data file and translating the requested data file from a stored data format into the requested data format responsive to receiving the request if the stored format differs from the requested format. The method further includes making the translated data file accessible to the requester if it is determined that the requester is authorized.
