    Abstract: A device and method for measuring the reflectivity of the tungsten oxide surface coating on cathode ray tube heaters are described, in which selected small areas of an illuminated heater wire turns are scanned by a microscope, and the collected reflected light converted to voltage values by a photomultiplier tube and compared to a standard value.
