  • Patent number: 10473375
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling a cryogenic cooling system is described. A supply gas line (3A) and a return gas line (3B) are provided which are coupled to a compressor (1) and to a mechanical refrigerator (2) via a coupling element (4). The coupling element is in gaseous communication with the supply (2A) and return gas lines and supplies gas to the mechanical refrigerator (2). The pressure of the supplied gas is modulated by the coupling element in a cyclical manner. A pressure sensing apparatus (6) monitors the pressure in at least one of the supply and return gas lines. A control system (5) is used to modulate the frequency of the cyclical gas pressure supplied by the coupling element in accordance with the pressure monitored by the pressure sensing apparatus. An associated method of controlling such a system is also described.

  • Patent number: 9599971
Abstract: A method operates an onboard power supply system in a motor vehicle. The onboard power supply system has a master controller and a slave controller, in which the master controller communicates with the slave controller via a subsidiary bus system and a further onboard power supply system component via a main bus system. Present requests are received in the slave controller and in response to the present requests, performing one of: putting the slave controller into an operating mode and switching the master controller to a transmission mode, in which the master controller coordinates communication between the slave controller and the onboard power supply system component; or putting the slave controller into a sleep mode and switching the master controller to an undertaking mode, in which the master controller responds to queries from the onboard power supply system component to the slave controller.

  • Patent number: 9062905
Abstract: A low temperature device has a low temperature container with an investigational opening. A material sample to that is to be examiner is mounted on a sample-holding device in the low temperature container. A sample that is fastened to the sample holding device can be cooled to the desired temperature using a cooling device, such as a pulse tube cooler, with a cold head that is inside the low temperature container. The sample holder is disposed in the low temperature container in such a way that the sample can be seen through the investigational opening. Because the investigational opening is flexible and not rigidly connected to the low temperature container, vibrations produced by the mechanical cooling device are prevented from being transferred to the investigational opening. Thus, a vibration-sensitive investigating and manipulating device can be coupled to the investigational opening without vibrations being transferred to the investigating and manipulating device.

  • Publication number: 20150088400
Abstract: An actuating drive for an air passage apparatus for engine cooling in a vehicle is provided. The actuating drive comprises a drive motor for adjusting the air passage apparatus and a control unit for controlling the drive motor, in which control unit are stored operating parameters for a first operating mode of the drive motor, in order to adjust the air passage apparatus between the open and closed position, as intended. The actuating drive has a drive element which is drivable by the drive motor and a driven element movable along an adjustment path with the drive element for adjusting the air passage apparatus. The drive element and the driven element are coupled together in an operating state for adjusting the air passage apparatus, and are decoupled from each other in another operating state, whereby the driven element is movable with respect to the drive element.
