  • Patent number: 11029401
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a traffic participant includes a first detection device for detecting the traffic participant in a first detection zone. The first detection device is configured to repeatedly detect the first detection zone and to detect an entering of a traffic participant in the first detection zone, and/or to detect the traffic participant in an angular section in an extended first detection zone beyond the first detection zone according to an instruction. The apparatus also includes a second detection device that detects the traffic participant in a second detection zone, and is adapted to provide data required for instruction about the traffic participant in response to the detection of the traffic participant and to forward it to the first detection device for instruction. This way, the traffic participant may be detected by the first detection device before entering the first detection zone.

  • Patent number: 9377782
Abstract: A method for assisting in the piloting of an aircraft during a landing on a landing area on the ground. The method includes the following steps: (1) during a landing phase, while the landing area on the ground is visible from the aircraft: displaying, on a screen of the cockpit of the aircraft, a target corresponding to this landing, overlaid on a view outside the aircraft; receiving from a pilot a command to modify this target and displaying the duly modified target; and receiving a command to validate a value of the target by a pilot; (2) automatically determining an aircraft flight trajectory as a function of the aircraft's current position and of the value of the target validated by the pilot and storing this trajectory; and (3) guiding the aircraft along the stored trajectory. Also a piloting assistance system suitable for implementing this method is disclosed.
