  • Patent number: 11196109
Abstract: A battery module for a motor vehicle includes two contact-making plates, which are arranged in parallel or approximately in parallel with one another, including a first and a second contact-making plate, and a plurality of battery cells, which are arranged next to one another and between the two contact-making plates. Each battery cell has a longitudinal axis and two axially opposite ends. The ends of each battery cell are connected to the contact-making plates, and the battery cells are arranged in such a way that i) an outer circumferential surface of each battery cell fully surrounded by adjacent battery cells touches outer circumferential surfaces of at least three adjacent battery cells, and ii) an outer circumferential surface of each battery cell not fully surrounded by adjacent battery cells touches outer circumferential surfaces of at least two adjacent battery cells.

  • Patent number: 10957952
Abstract: A heatable battery includes a battery cell with an anode, a cathode, an anode connection which is connected to the anode, and a cathode connection which is connected to the cathode. The battery cell has a heating element and a connection for applying a voltage potential to the heating element. The heating element is connected to one of the components of the anode connection and the cathode connection. The battery cell further has a controllable switch which is arranged between the connection for applying the voltage potential to the heating element and the other of the components of the anode connection and the cathode connection.

  • Patent number: 10608287
Abstract: A method for producing an energy storage cell, in particular a lithium-ion cell, whose housing is elastically deformable include introducing at least one electrode coil or electrode stack, having at least two electrodes and at least one separator arranged between the electrodes, into a housing. The method also includes introducing an electrolyte into the housing, and filling the housing with gas and generating an excess pressure in the housing, by which at least one housing wall of the housing is curved outward. The housing is sealed in a gas-tight manner such that the excess pressure in the housing and the curvature of the at least one housing wall are maintained, and such that the housing is elastically deformable in a direction perpendicular to the at least one curved housing wall.
