    Abstract: Adhesives comprising an aqueous polymer dispersion, at least one cross-linker, and optional additives, are provided for film lamination. The adhesives comprise a polymer dispersion comprising at least one salt, at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer with at least one keto or aldehyde group, and at least one compound with at least two functional groups that are capable to react with the keto or aldehyde groups. The adhesives advantageously provide a strong connection between a transparent plastic film or foil and a substrate such as paper or cardboard while being safer and cheaper.
