Publication number: 20230343217Abstract: A method of calculating a collision point between an ego vehicle and a target vehicle and to emergency-brake-assist deceleration using the calculation. The calculation defines areas of collision risk of the ego vehicle, determines movement of the ego and target vehicle, calculates times-to-collision for first and second ego-vehicle intersecting points and a target-vehicle intersecting point to an intersection point. A risk collision point condition establishes that the collision point is inside an ego vehicle area if the first time-to-collision for the first ego-vehicle intersecting point reaching the intersection point is less than a third time-to-collision for the target-intersection point reaching the intersection point, and the second time-to-collision for the second ego-vehicle intersecting point reaching the intersection point is greater than the third time-to-collision for the target intersection point reaching the intersection point.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Applicant: Continental Autonomous Mobility Germany GmbHInventors: Mihai Marius Ciuca, Paul Cristian Bucataru, Matthias Lorenzen, Andreas Kramer

Method and system for determining an angular position of a component of a goods processing apparatus
Patent number: 11754391Abstract: A goods processing apparatus can include a pivotable display, a sensor, and a controller. The sensor detects an angle of inclination of the pivotable display. The pivotable display is rotatable about a x-axis of a Cartesian coordinate system. The sensor is disposed on the pivotable display and includes respective transducers at least in a direction of a y-axis and a z-axis of the Cartesian coordinate system. The sensor generates respective digital measured values for each of the y-axis and the z-axis. The controller processes the two digital measured values to derive the angle of inclination of the pivotable display based on the two digital measured values, and stores, in a memory of the goods processing apparatus, the derived angle of inclination.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2019Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Francotyp-Postalia GmbHInventors: Karsten Von Der Waydbrink, Tilmann Schilling, Wolf-Alexander Krumholz, Axel Ortmann, Wolfgang Muhl, Matthias Lorenzen -
Patent number: 11630897Abstract: A goods processing apparatus includes a controller including a program memory, a security module, a first communication interface that is configured to, in cooperation with the security module, securely communicate with a remote server, and an acoustic output device electrically connected with the controller and configured to output audio files or sound files. The security module and the first communication interface can be electrically connected with the controller. The program memory may store a program to control the acoustic output via the acoustic output device. The program can facilitate external commands being transmitted from the remote server, or from one or more other internet sources, to the controller. Via security measures, operational security of the goods processing apparatus is prevented from being negatively affected, or harmful code is prevented from being transmitted to controller.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2019Date of Patent: April 18, 2023Assignee: Francotyp-Postalia GmbHInventors: Matthias Lorenzen, Kai Nicolai, Axel Ortmann, Tobias Reisinger, Robert Hoefig, Karsten von der Waydbrink

Patent number: 10579095Abstract: A goods processing apparatus can include a printing device, a pivotable display, a controller, and a sensor. The pivotable display may include a display support, a pivotable display holder, a display housing that houses a display monitor having a display border arranged around the display monitor and a display housing frame that surrounds the display border, and at least one actuation input device configured to manually trigger a motorized pivoting of the display monitor. The sensor detects an angle of inclination of the pivotable display. The controller controls a motor to automatically set a display inclination of the pivotable display based on the detected angle of inclination and a respective operator of the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2019Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: Francotyp-Postalia GmbHInventors: Wolf-Alexander Krumholz, Axel Ortmann, Wolfgang Muhl, Matthias Lorenzen

Patent number: 5880747Abstract: A device for printing stock standing on one edge, in particular a piece of mail in a postage meter and/or addressing machine, includes a guide plate for the stock which is inclined relative to the vertical and has a recessed region for a printing device. A rotating conveyor has a conveying plane which extends orthogonal to the guide plate and on which the stock stands on one edge and is transported in one direction while resting against the guide plate. The recessed region includes at least one cutout and a region of the guide plate downstream of the cutout is so far recessed from a bearing surface for the stock that there is no contact with the latter in this location. This ensures sufficient penetration time for the ink and prevents smearing of the printed image. The printing device is an ink jet printing device which is stationary during printing and which has a nozzle plane that extends parallel to the guide plate. The guide plate is inclined a maximum of 45.degree. from vertical.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1997Date of Patent: March 9, 1999Assignee: Francotyp-Postalia Aktiengesellschaft und Co.Inventors: Christian Bartenwerfer, Frank Geserich, Wolfgang Von Inten, Wilfried Kopanski, Wolf-Alexander Krumholz, Matthias Lorenzen, Dietrich Muller, Heinz Rehberg, Michael Schmidt-Kretschmer, Dieter Wolm, Michael Wolf
