  • Patent number: 8068945
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for homogenizing measurement units used for displaying communication messages containing numerical data notably messages exchanged by an aircraft with the air traffic control authority. The choice of the working units of the flight management computer are recovered in the configuration database. The measurement unit of the numerical data item of the displayed message is determined. When the measurement unit of the numerical data item of the message does not form part of the system of measurement units, the numerical data item is connected into a unit forming part of the system of units. The display of the communication message on the onboard screen is formatted.

  • Patent number: 7511635
Abstract: The information relates to a method of transmitting information between a communications management unit on board an aircraft and a ground air control system, characterized in that it comprises the following steps consisting, in respect of the communications management unit, in: a) detecting the reception of alerts originating from an onboard surveillance system, via a communication bus, b) when an alert is detected, shaping the information contained in the alert as a report according to a predetermined format, and dispatching this report to the ground system.

  • Publication number: 20080192693
Abstract: The present invention relates to the determination of the ground address that an aircraft must call within the aeronautical telecommunication network ATN to prepare a context for digital data exchanges with a ground air traffic control center. It consists in using the GSIF general data broadcast by certain ground telecommunication stations, including VDL ground stations, to enable the router on board an aircraft passing through the coverage area of a routing center to undertake an automatic handshake procedure. This operation consists in identifying the ground telecommunication station concerned by its GSIF data, locating it from this identification and selecting the address of the ground CM application of the air traffic control center closest to the identified ground telecommunication station from a file of ground CM application addresses organized by geographical areas.

  • Patent number: 6931248
Abstract: A method for an ATN aeronautical telecommunications network to select ground stations giving access to the ATN terrestrial network, by an aircraft in the course of its task. The method equips the on-board router with a database relating to the ATN network containing a file of ground stations graded as a function of the geographical position of the aircraft on its route prepared during the construction of the flight plan, and provides a link between the on-board router and the navigation equipment of the aircraft, allowing the on-board router to know the position of the aircraft on its route and to use this position to select, from the database, the ground stations having the aircraft in their areas of coverage, with an order of preference determined by the company operating the aircraft. This accelerates the choice of a ground station for access to the ATN terrestrial network, while leaving complete control of this choice to the operating company.

  • Publication number: 20020155833
Abstract: The invention relates to the ATN aeronautical telecommunications network. It relates more particularly to the selection of the ground stations giving access to the ATN terrestrial network, by an aircraft in the course of its task. It consists in equipping the on-board router with a database relating to the ATN network containing a file of ground stations graded as a function of the geographical position of the aircraft on its route prepared during the construction of the flight plan, and in providing a link between the on-board router and the navigation equipment of the aircraft, allowing the on-board router to know the position of the aircraft on its route and to use this position to select, from the database, the ground stations having the aircraft in their areas of coverage, with an order of preference determined by the company operating the aircraft.
