  • Patent number: 7294168
Abstract: The invention relates to the removal of bivalent copper from copper chloride solution in connection with the hydrometallurgical production of copper. In the copper production process, a copper-bearing raw material is leached with a chloride-bearing solution. The copper chloride solution formed in the leaching, which contains both mono- and bivalent copper, undergoes bivalent copper removal at least in part by precipitation, and the copper(I) chloride solution is conduced to further treatment. Precipitation of the bivalent copper occurs as alkaline copper chloride precipitation. The alkaline copper (II) chloride formed is leached as copper(II) chloride either separately or in connection with raw material leaching, and is used in copper raw material leaching.

  • Publication number: 20070245856
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recovering gold from an intermediate product or residue containing sulphur and iron generated in the leaching of a sulphidic raw material. The recovery of gold and the other valuable metals in the raw material takes place in a chloride environment. The gold contained in the intermediate product or residue is leached with divalent copper and chlorine in a copper (II) chloride—sodium chloride solution in conditions where the oxidation-reduction potential is in the range of 650-750 mV and the pH between 1 and 1.6. The acid generated during the feed of chlorine is neutralized with a suitable alkali. Neutralization avoids the costs of dissolving the iron.

  • Patent number: 6965770
Abstract: A method and system for establishing a dynamic content delivery system (DCDS) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a Bluetooth enabled mobile communications unit is used to communicate with a server in order to make a request for the delivery of specific content, such as a song, video, or the like, to a separate output device, such as a loudspeaker, a display screen, or the like. In another embodiment the content is delivered back to the requesting mobile communications device. In some embodiments, hybrid networks may be used for requesting and delivering content. A narrowband, bi-directional, unicast network may be used for requesting content and acknowledging the requests, while a broadband, unidirectional, multicast network may be used to deliver the requested content to the requesting client device. The order in which the content is delivered may be modified by user requests according to a predetermined algorithm.

  • Patent number: 6929677
Abstract: This invention relates to a method where sulfidic iron-bearing copper concentrate is leached on the countercurrent principle, in a chloride environment. The leaching takes place with the aid of bivalent copper and an oxygen-bearing gas as a multi-stage continuous process, under normal pressure, at a temperature, which as highest corresponds to the boiling point of the solution. Part of the insoluble solid matter is returned, counter to the main flow of solid matter, to one of the previous leaching stages or reactors where, as a result of the extended leaching time, the leach waste iron is recovered mostly as hematite.

  • Publication number: 20050147258
Abstract: The present invention describes a method for temporal adjustment of adaptation control of an adaptive interference canceller (AIC) based on spatially weighted beamforming pre-processing. Most importantly, the present invention enhances the spatial blocking performance, while generating noise references for the AIC by a beamformer, by introducing dynamic adjustment to the AIC filter adaptation control. As a result, adaptation is effectively realized in two dimensions—spatial and temporal. The criterion for adjusting the AIC filter adaptation control is applied continuously following generation of the noise references. Essential in the invention is the comparison of the short-time powers or levels of the noise reference signals and desired signal beams and allowing the adaptation of the AIC filter under consideration only when the noise reference signal power is large enough in comparison with the desired signal power.

  • Publication number: 20050149320
Abstract: This invention describes a method for generating noise references for adaptive interference cancellation filters for applications in generalized sidelobe canceling systems. More specifically the present invention relates to a multi-microphone beamforming system similar to a generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) structure, but the difference with the GSC is that the present invention creates noise references to the adaptive interference canceller (AIC) filters using steerable beams that block out the desired signal when the beam is steered away from the desired signal source location.

  • Publication number: 20050141731
Abstract: This invention describes a method for efficient beamforming for generalized sidelobe canceling using complementary noise separation filtering for generating a noise reference for adaptation performance of an adaptive interference canceller (AIC). The adaptive filter provides noise estimates to be subtracted from the desired signal path providing further noise reduction in the system output. More specifically, the present invention relates to a multi-microphone beamforming system similar to a generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) structure, but the difference with the conventional GSC method is that the complementary filter used for desired signal blocking can be realized with a simple subtraction without compromising the beam steering flexibility of the polynomial beamforming filter front end using the desired target signal and the complementary background noise estimate signal, respectively, with the complexity of one complementary filter and one sum beamformer.

  • Publication number: 20050114136
Abstract: In wavetable based sound synthesis, the wavetable data may comprise samples in a loop section, which samples may be reused for a playback in a loop as often as required. According to a first aspect of the invention, it is proposed that the internal state of a decoder operating on a frame-by-frame basis is restored before each repetition of a decoding of a stored encoded frame comprising the beginning of a loop section. According to a second aspect of the invention, the original wavetable data is padded at the beginning before encoding the wavetable data on a frame-by-frame basis for storage, such that all samples of the loop section are included in a single frame, if possible. According to a third aspect of the invention, a last, possibly incomplete frame provided for encoding is filled up with samples resulting from a periodic extension of the loop section.

  • Publication number: 20050080498
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for use in a wavetable based sound synthesis, wherein a first processor stores wavetable data and wherein a second processor generates an output audio signal frame-by-frame based on samples of the wavetable data. One method comprises at the first processor selecting samples of the stored wavetable data, which are expected to be required at the most at the second processor for generating a next output audio frame. The selection is based on a model of a pitch-shift evolution during a single frame and on the number of samples which have been used so far by the second processor. The selected samples are made available to the second processor. Another method allows the second processor to make use of the provided samples. The invention relates equally to corresponding processors, to a corresponding wavetable based sound synthesis system, to a corresponding device and to corresponding software program products.

  • Publication number: 20040094020
Abstract: A method and device for audio streaming, wherein audio signals indicative of voice are encoded by a voice-specific encoder (such as AMR-WB) and embedded in a first bitstream, and audio signals indicative of instrumental sounds are encoded by a different encoder, such as an SP-MIDI synthesizer, and embedded in a second bitstream for transmission. In the decoder, a voice-specific decoder is used to reconstruct the voice signals based on the first bitstream, and a synthesizer-type decoder is used to reconstruct the instrumental sounds based on the second bitstream. The reconstructed voice signals and the reconstructed instrumental sounds are dynamically mixed for playback.
