  • Patent number: 8786846
Abstract: Method is proposed of angular coordinates determination for observer's head relative to three mutually perpendicular axes of fixed (or tied to an object) coordinate system OXYZ (angle of roll, azimuth, elevation angle) by use of measuring system based on light-sensitive sensor with collimating lens fixed relative to coordinate system and LED lasers installed on head-mounted module HMM. Measuring device registers angular coordinates of narrow pencils of rays formed by LED lasers and provides determination of observer's head angular coordinates in real-time. Three angles of HMM can be determined by proposed method while no less than two LED lasers are in lens field of view with angle ? of set value and direction included between their axes. To provide specified measurement range of observer's head angles exceeding lens field of view LED lasers matrix is installed on HMM containing LED lasers allocated in several horizontal and vertical lines.

  • Patent number: 8356995
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to devices that are used to simulate a firearm recoil effect. It is a known fact that the recoil effect of a firearm directly influences quality of marksmanship of a shooter in areas including but not limited to target acquisition and re-acquisition, firing accuracy, psychological anticipation of a shot to be fired, proper grip of a weapon and more. The suggested device is used in a combination with training simulators to enhance the tactical functionality and by so increasing the quality of training. The recoil emulation device mounts on a barrel of any standard handheld firearm including but not limited to all types of machine guns and sniper rifles. It is then connected via a cable to an air compressor, which provides air pressure required to initiate a recoil emulation cycle. The recoil emulation device consists of a cylinder, which holds a metal ball, which travels throughout the cylinder and provides the impact required to cause an upward displacement of a weapon.

  • Publication number: 20120247397
Abstract: The proposed device allows for the remote control of a comprising mechanical collar simulating the rapid jerking motion of the leash on the neck of an animal subject for training purposes. The device is based on electromagnet fixed on the collar containing a solenoid and core. Under the current pulse the solenoid core is sharply ejected, the tip momentarily presses on the dog's neck as a result, there is a momentary constriction of the collar, similar to the pressure caused by the rapid jerking of a leash as performed in animal training. The remote control of the device is performed by use of radio signal coded pulses from the pulse transmitter that is held by the dog's owner in hands.

  • Publication number: 20120127381
Abstract: The wide-angle Head-Up display design allows the increase in horizontal peripheral field of view and is based on two, three or more unified informational channels with each of them containing axis-symmetric lens collimating optical system and visualizer comprised of more than one LCD-projectors with each of them containing LCD-matrix and tricolor illuminator, projection lens and integrated for all projectors the transparent-diffusive screen intended for representation of primary images and is located at the object-side focal plane of channel collimating optical system and moreover the primary images are located on the screen so that their adjacent horizontal boundaries are stitched with small overlap in order to ensure the uninterrupted representation of resulting image. The channels' axes are horizontally shifted relative to each other so that adjacent boundaries of peripheral fields of view for the neighboring channels are coincided.

  • Patent number: 7982959
Abstract: A novel HUD (Head-UP Display) design in which the image forming source producing flight and aiming symbolic information is based unlike conventional HUDs not on projecting CRT, but on two LCD matrices to reduce its size, weight and power consumption. The images produced on matrixes are projected by optical system on transparently-diffusive or diffusively-reflective screen which is positioned in focal plane of HUD's optical collimating head. To enhance HUD brightness and resolution the image forming source is carried out in two variants: image forming source containing two matrices in which each matrix is forming half of full image which is projected on corresponding half of the screen, image forming source containing two matrices which images are projected on full screen; the matrices are shifted between each other horizontally and vertically by half of pixel pace (pace is the distance between two luminous dots).

  • Patent number: 7629877
Abstract: The present invention relates to indication systems providing augmented visual support for the operator of a motor vehicle, vessel or an aircraft. The indication system is positioned in the location of a traditional vehicular gauge dashboard. The indication system consists of an image formulator and an optical collimator system with two visual channels. Lower channel is used for direct visual tracking of all virtual gauge readings while the upper channel is used to track updates “on the windshield” of a vehicle with the background of the surrounding environment. The lower channel displays virtual collimator imaging of the traditional analog or digital gauges as well as navigational system data. The upper channel is reflected onto the exterior background of the windshield and displays collimator imaged critical data that is required for the safe operation of a vehicle. To provide the switching functionality between the two channels, the indication system utilizes a lightproof partition.
