  • Patent number: 6092452
Abstract: A method is described for changing between jobs in a device for slitting a web (N) into a plurality of lengthwise strips (L1, L3, L5, L1', L3', L5') with two series of slitting tools (25, 25B). At the moment of the job changeover, the tools of a first series are moved from a slitting position to an inactive position and the tools of the second series are moved from an inactive position to a slitting position. The passage from one position to the other is delayed for one of the tools of each series in order to generate two slit lines (L3', L5) extending into the job changeover zone (CA), and these lines are subsequently joined up by a transverse slit (L9). • Patent number: 5951454
Abstract: A system is described for cutting and creasing an indefinite weblike material (N) comprising: a first set of creasing tools (15); a second set of creasing tools (17); a first set of cutting tools (31); a second set of cutting tools (33); positioning means (27) for positioning cutting and creasing tools; and first auxiliary cutting members (63) for making cuts not parallel with the direction of advance of the weblike material for the trims (R) along the edges of the weblike material when the change of job occurs. The first auxiliary cutting members (63) make a joining cut (4, 6) between the cut lines (1, 3) defining the trims (R) of one job and the cut lines (1', 3') defining the trims (R') of the next job, without severing the trims (R, R') transversely where the change of job occurs.

  • Patent number: 5626336
Abstract: An automatic storage and stacking device for sheets of laminar material, such as corrugated cardboard or the like, comprises a transportation unit which removes the sheets of laminar material from a cutting group, overlaps them and conveys them towards a storage surface. The transportation unit comprises a plurality of conveyors in series which can be operated at varying speeds so as to allow separation of a first series of sheets from a successive second series of sheets; with one of said conveyors there is associated a retaining means for holding the rear portion of the first sheet of said second series, which retaining means comprises a gripper member able to perform an alternating movement along the conveyor with which said gripper member is associated.

  • Patent number: 5120297
Abstract: The present invention describes an apparatus for creasing and cutting an endless web of cardboard. A pair of rollers operates on the web while another pair of rollers is in an inactive position where the tools mounted on the rollers can be moved to new positions. When it is time for different operations to be performed on the web the original rollers working on the web are removed from their working position and the rollers previously in the inactive position are moved to the working position. The rollers now in the working position have had their tools aligned for the new operation while they were in the inactive position. The rollers originally in the working position are now in an inactive position where the tools on these rollers can be aligned for another operation. Each pair of rollers is independently driven to spin independent of the position of the roller.
