  • Patent number: 10502275
Abstract: A caliper body for a disc brake is described. The caliper body is adapted to straddle an associable brake disc. The caliper body may have a first elongated portion, or a vehicle-side elongated portion, at least partially adapted to face the first braking surface. The caliper body may also have a second elongated portion, or wheel-side elongated portion, opposite to the first elongated portion and at least partially adapted to face the second braking surface. At least one part of the first elongated portion has at least a first module and at least one part of the second elongated portion has at least a second module. The first module and the second module are obtained by at least one non-additive manufacturing technique.

Date of Patent: December 10, 2019
    Assignee: Freni Brembo S.p.A.

  • Patent number: 8225910
Abstract: A device for controlling roll-back of a piston in a brake caliper includes a bush coaxial with and external to the piston. The bush has an outer sealing surface, and a scraper element seated in the caliper body acts against the sealing surface of the bush. An elastic element between the bush and the piston has a elastic constant selected so as to provide an elastic force on the piston substantially weaker that the axial friction force exerted by the scraper element. When the piston is pushed out of its piston seat, the piston packs the elastic means or abuts against the bush before relative sliding occurs between the scraper element and the outer sealing surface of the bush.

  • Publication number: 20090145701
Abstract: A device for controlling the piston roll-back including a piston comprising a piston body (9) and a bush (10) coaxial to said piston body, said bush being arranged externally to said piston body and having an outer sealing surface, a scraper element (11) seated in a seat provided in the calliper body so as to act pressure-wise against said sealing surface of the bush, and elastic means provided between said bush and said piston body in reciprocal moving apart, said elastic means exhibiting a predetermined elastic constant that determines an elastic action on the piston substantially weaker that the axial friction action exerted by the scraper element so that, when the piston is stressed out of its piston seat, the piston body packs said elastic means or abuts against said bush before a relative sliding occurs between said scraper element and said outer sealing surface of the bush.

  • Publication number: 20040216967
Abstract: A disc-brake caliper comprises a caliper body suitable for being associated with a disc and has at least one seat suitable for housing a pad which cooperates with thrust means in order to generate a braking force on the disc. The caliper also comprises a brake-fluid distribution circuit for supplying the brake fluid to the thrust means, and at least one reinforcing element disposed between a first portion and a second portion of the caliper body in the region of the seat for the pad.
