  • Patent number: 4532909
Abstract: A butterfly regulated carburetion system having its outlet connected to the intake manifold by a device restricting fuel and air flow very substantially from the rated flow capacity of an OEM carburetor in a manner promoting improved vaporization of the fuel and thorough mixture thereof with air before exit into the inlet of an OEM inlet manifold thereby to obtain more uniform proportions of fuel and air to each cylinder. These objectives are achieved by provision of a riser plate having a converging fuel vaporizing and mixing passage at least as long as the diameter of the OEM carburetor outlet. When the OEM engine is applied to a typical conventional vehicle, the device provides improved acceleration, better idling, greater power and utilizes substantially less fuel while retaining optimum drivability factor of 92 miles per hour.

  • Patent number: 4462372
Abstract: Disclosed is a fuel injection system particularly useful on supercharged boat and vehicle drag racing engines which functions to provide a positively controlled uniform fuel/air ratio proportional to engine speed from idle through maximum engine horsepower operation. The system utilizes an engine-driven positive displacement pump supplying pressurized fuel to calibrated injection nozzles via a unique driver-controlled fuel metering valve. This valve has idle and full throttle positions for vehicle racing, but idle, partial and full throttle positions for boat racing. In each application, excess fuel entering a rotary metering valve is returned to the source via continuously open valveless passages and, upon initiation of acceleration, total fuel requirements are supplied to the engine instantly and without delay in a precisely controlled fuel/air ratio.

  • Patent number: 4067305
Abstract: A converter kit for use in converting a stock vehicle engine to drive the distributor assembly from the front rather than the rear end of the engine camshaft thereby to provide improved synchronization between the crank shaft and distributor, particularly at higher engine speeds. The kit includes a main body casting securable across the front end of the engine and having a drive connection extending through a stock camshaft cover into a drive coupling secured to the front end of the camshaft. The engine distributor is transferable directly from its original support housing into a vertically disposed receiving well of the converter casting. The support brackets for the converter casting include cooling fluid passages across the outer ends thereof adapted to be sandwiched between the stock cooling fluid pump flow passages and the engine cooling passages.
