  • Patent number: 5568771
Abstract: A detachable grip of a gondola lift or chairlift has a movable jaw urged towards a fixed jaw by a pair of compression springs. The movable jaw is rigidly secured to one end of an operating lever, which pivots in a vertical plane containing the grip body to control the opening or closure onto the cable of the jaws. One end of the springs is secured near the free end of the operating lever, opposite to the movable jaw, and the other end of the springs is secured near the fixed jaw. The mutual distance of the spring ends near the fixed jaw is higher than the mutual distance of the spring ends near the the free end of the operating lever, so that the springs are twice inclined with respect to the grip body.

  • Patent number: 5515789
Abstract: A single-cable aerial cableway including guide rails forming a lead-in guide, secured to a stationary cable support structure. The lead-in guide cooperates with a wheel secured to the grip so as to stabilize and position the grip and the load before they pass along the structure. The position of the lead-in guide is automatically adjusted when the position in height of the cable changes so that the weel always enter the lead-in guide.

  • Patent number: 5226368
Abstract: An overhead cable transport installation (e.g., a gondola lift or a chairlift) possesses a transfer rail in an end station on which grips of carriages are detached from the cable. At the exit of this transfer rail a coupling rail section extends parallel to the cable so that the cable is inserted between the jaws of the grip before the closing of the grip for clamping the cable. The coupling rail section comprises a safety device in the form of a sleeve partially surrounding the cable which allows the free passage of the grip when the cable is inserted between the jaws. Conversely, when the cable is outside the jaws, the grip is wedged and held back to prevent the chair from reaching the end of the transfer rail and falling down.

  • Patent number: 5119733
Abstract: A tension station of a detachable chairlift or gondola lift includes a sliding carriage which supports both the return pulley or drive pulley and transfer rail with the associated drive mechanism which drives the cars of the cable transport installation. The carriage is mounted such that it may slide along a longitudinal axis between the tension station and another station.

  • Patent number: 4898100
Abstract: An aerial transport installation having two parallel continuously moving suspension traction cables defining two endless loops have at least one cable car equipped with ward rippers for clamping the cables on the top part of the cables. The cables define a line of circulation for the cars including a track of arrival and a track of departure at each station, with the tracks defining horizontal planes. The end pulleys at each station include at least one return pulley for separating the cable loops so that the cable car can be totally disengaged and disassociated from the cable. The pulleys are arranged such that a longitudinal free space is provided between the loops of the cable at each station to facilitate the removal of the cable car from the cables.

  • Patent number: 4784065
Abstract: The opening and closing control system of a protective hood of a chair of a chair-lift comprises spring or gravity energy storage devices, to move the hood independently from the speed of the chair. The energy storage device is reloaded when the chair passes through the terminal and catches lock the hood in different positions. These catches are automatically controlled when the chair passes predetermined locations to achieve automatic control of opening and closing of the hood.

  • Patent number: 4691643
Abstract: A carriage coupling cars to a carrier-hauling rope of a cable-car comprises two grips having protruding parts above the upper face of the rope. A connecting part with a concave running face facilitating the passage of the grips under the compression sheaves extends between the protruding parts.

  • Patent number: 4441430
Abstract: Aerial monocable chairlift or gondola lift having detachable grips for coupling the chairs or gondolas to the continuously moving cable. Each grip, in the form of a plier, has a pair of jaws, the outer profile of the jaws being so designed that the grip passes on support sheaves, hold down sheaves and horizontal wheels in the station. The clamping coil spring is inserted between the ends of the plier levers and extends substantially parallel to the hanger bar articulated on the grip body. A grip operating roller opens the jaws at a platform in the station and the speed of the chair is reduced for loading and/or unloading of the passengers before the grip is again coupled to the cable.
