  • Patent number: 11754286
Abstract: A combustion chamber for an engine includes inner and outer combustion chamber walls bounding a combustion space. Three mixing air holes with respective central points at corner points of a virtual first or second triangle are arranged on mutually opposite first and second wall segments of the inner and outer walls. The second triangle of the second wall segment of the outer wall is oriented rotated by 180° with respect to the first triangle of the first wall segment of the inner wall, and the mixing air holes arranged in rows on the first and second wall segments are arranged with respect to one another so the mixing air holes of the first and second wall segments that are arranged at the corner points of the first and second triangles do not lie opposite a mixing air hole of the second or first wall segment.

  • Publication number: 20230235886
Abstract: The proposed solution relates to a nozzle assembly for a combustion chamber of an engine, having at least one nozzle, which includes a nozzle head that extends along a nozzle longitudinal axis and has at least one nozzle exit opening for injecting fuel into a combustion space of the combustion chamber, and at least one air-guiding duct, by way of which a swirl-affected air flow can be created in the direction of the combustion space along an outer lateral surface of the nozzle head. At least one guide element which protrudes on the outer lateral surface of the nozzle head is in a flow path for the air flow of the at least one air-guiding duct and is configured to guide at least a part of the air flow radially inwards in relation to the nozzle longitudinal axis into a central injection region downstream of the nozzle exit opening.

  • Publication number: 20210285640
Abstract: The proposed solution relates to a nozzle for a combustion chamber of an engine for the purposes of providing a fuel-air mixture at a nozzle exit opening of the nozzle. The nozzle is, at a nozzle exit opening, formed with at least one guiding element for guiding a resulting fuel-air mixture radially outward with respect to the nozzle longitudinal axis and a center of the nozzle exit opening, and has, on the nozzle main body, at least one jet generator duct for generating at least one fuel jet which is directed radially inward and/or in the direction of a center of the nozzle exit opening.

  • Patent number: 10808623
Abstract: A combustion chamber assembly, with a combustion chamber nozzle for providing a fuel-air mixture at a nozzle exit opening. A nozzle main body includes an inner air guiding channel for conveying air to the exit opening, a fuel guiding channel for conveying fuel to the exit opening that is positioned radially further outwards to the axis than the inner air guiding channel, and a radially outwardly positioned air guiding element for guiding the air and the fuel-air mixture discharged at the exit opening in a radially outwardly oriented outflow direction. A guide flow generation device creates a guide flow of air that radially borders the air and the fuel-air mixture discharged at the exit opening, and defines a maximum outflow angle for the outflow direction with respect to the nozzle longitudinal axis at which the air and fuel-air mixture discharged at the exit opening can flow radially outwards.

  • Patent number: 10808935
Abstract: A combustion chamber assembly group includes a nozzle providing a fuel-air mixture at a nozzle exit opening. An end of a fuel guiding channel is bordered at the nozzle exit opening by a flow-off edge located radially outside, and an air guiding element of an air guiding channel of the nozzle located radially outside projects with respect to this flow-off edge in the axial direction with respect to a nozzle longitudinal axis such that: a reference angle present between the nozzle longitudinal axis and a straight boundary line extending through a point at the flow-off edge and tangentially to the axially projecting air guiding element, and/or a reference angle present between the nozzle longitudinal axis and a straight boundary line extending through a point at the flow-off edge and a point of the air guiding element that projects maximally beyond the flow-off edge in the axial direction is ?50°.
