  • Patent number: 8411170
Abstract: An image processing device that rotates an image according to the inclination of a line segment included in the image, includes an evaluation unit 106 that evaluates a plurality of line segments whose inclinations are different, on the basis of each of a plurality of different decision standards, and a selection unit 106 that selects, on the basis of the results of the plurality of evaluations, from among the plurality of line segments, a line segment on the basis of which the image is to be rotated.

  • Publication number: 20090041390
Abstract: A computer-readable computer program product that contains a data file outputting program for causing a computer to execute: a read-in instruction for reading in a plurality of data groups from a storage medium having recorded therein in correlation to each other post-edition data, pre-edition data and edition history data, and each of the plurality of data groups including the post-edition data, the pre-edition data, and the edition history data in correlation to each other, one group after another; a data creation instruction for applying, for each of the plurality of data groups, a content of edition at each point in time of edition to the pre-edition data based on the edition history data to create edition process data at each point in time; and a file output instruction for outputting in batch the post-edition data, the pre-edition data, and the edition process data as different data files, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20060172419
Abstract: In the process of generating ZO-1 gene knockout mice, the present inventors developed gene targeting vectors that allow homologous recombination to occur at a high probability (90% or more). In addition, the present inventors used the targeting vectors for studying optimal electroporation conditions in epithelial cells, and as a result, successfully determined optimal electroporation conditions that would enable efficient gene targeting in the EpH4 mouse epithelial cell line. Use of the vectors of the present invention enables easy introduction of exogenous genes into the ZO-1 allele of ES cells. Moreover, since effects on the genomic structure need not be considered, the methods of the present invention are expected to solve problems encountered in the conventional methods for generating transgenic mice and stable transformants.

  • Publication number: 20040066971
Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus for compressing an image preserves the characteristics of the original picture image in the post compression picture image. A 4 pixel region (for example) is selected from among the original picture image pixels. The values of the upper left pixel, the upper right pixel, the lower left pixel, and the lower right pixel, e.g., are successively determined. If the pixel value of any one of the selected 4 pixels is determined to be a value representative of a line of a line drawing, then a value for a pixel of the compressed picture image corresponding to the 4 pixel region selected from the original picture image is set to the representative value. If none of the 4 pixels in the selected region have a value representative of a line in a line drawing, the value of the pixel of the compressed picture image is established to be a value corresponding to a region in which there is no line of a line drawing.

  • Patent number: 6269357
Abstract: To shorten the time required to transfer image data from a first information processing apparatus (e.g., an electronic camera) to a second information processing apparatus (e.g., a personal computer) the first information processing apparatus reduces the image data when it is determined that a slow interface is being used. Additionally, the reduced image data being transferred can be altered in size (enlarged or further reduced) prior to compression so that its size is best suited for the particular compression process.
