Patent number: 10845164Abstract: A torsion bar restraint system for tracked combat vehicles that aids in the improvement of occupant survival rates when associated with asymmetric threats. The blast mitigating restraint system can reduce the dynamic deflection of torsion bars based on the severity of the blast impulse as needed. Systems comprise one or more components that secure the torsion bar to the hull for protecting against dynamic deflection and lateral displacement. The two disclosed components, an end restraint device and an M-Ring restraining device, can be used in conjunction or independently from each other based on the type of threat likely to be encountered.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2017Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignee: BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P.Inventors: Brian Kariya, Roy John Buchmann, Parmjit Paul Singh, Mei Lam, Scott Greenlee, Jeff Faul, Wing Ng, Michael McCullough, Stu Nakashima, Yaping Zhu

Patent number: 10609134Abstract: Virtualized applications can be delivered using a peer-to-peer model. Each client in a virtual desktop infrastructure environment can function as both a server and a client for purposes of distributing and receiving application layers. A server component on each client can advertise any application layers that the client maintains in its local storage and can receive and service streaming requests from other clients. A client component on each client can discover each application layer that is available within its location including which client provides each application layer. The client component can therefore also be configured to request application layers from the appropriate clients. This peer-to-peer model eliminates the need to provide a dedicated server at each location. Also, because a server component on the client will only be tasked with streaming to a limited number of clients, virtually any client can function as the source of an application layer.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2016Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: Wyse Technology L.L.C.Inventor: Mandy Sui Mei Lam

Patent number: 10367841Abstract: Disclosed is a data analysis and cybersecurity method, which forms a time-based series of behavioral features, and analyzes the series of behavioral features for attack detection, new features derivation, and/or features evaluation. Analyzing the time based series of behavioral features may comprise using a Feed-Forward Neural Networks (FFNN) method, a Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) method, a Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) method, a Long Short-Term Memories (LSTMs) method, a principal Component Analysis (PCA) method, a Random Forest pipeline method, and/or an autoencoder method. In one embodiment, the behavioral features of the time-based series of behavioral features comprise human engineered features, and/or machined learned features, wherein the method may be used to learn new features from historic features.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2017Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Inventors: Ignacio Arnaldo, Ankit Arun, Mei Lam, Costas Bassias

Patent number: 8856723Abstract: A method provides network driver injection into a target image to transform the target image to be compatible with one or more source machines, for facilitating operating system streaming over a network. The method may include: facilitating access to a source system registry file of a source machine; facilitating access to a target system registry file of the target image, without copying the target image; determining whether source network interface cards of the source machine are compatible with the target image; and if the source network interface cards are not compatible with the target image, performing network interface driver injection into the target image. The target image may include an operating system. A machine-readable storage medium and apparatus are provided. A method is described for building a program for providing network driver injection into a target image to transform the target image to be compatible with computing machines.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2013Date of Patent: October 7, 2014Assignee: WYSE Technology L.L.C.Inventor: Mandy Sui Mei Lam

Patent number: 7673031Abstract: If retrieved information from a storage area network resource does not enable simple and direct mapping of the respective unknown type of storage area network resource to a known type of storage area network resource with sufficient certainty (because the collection of data does not match any known unique groupings of data associated with known types of resources), then a mapping function attempts to automatically map the storage area network resource to a respective known type of storage area network resource. For example, the mapping function attempts to identify the specific identity of the storage area network resource in question. After repeating a process of mapping and determining identities of one or more different resources in a storage area network environment, an advisory process applies a set of configuration rules to identify whether an arrangement of resources will work properly.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2006Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Sesh Jalagam, Yan Zheng, Sharon Yuet Mei Lam, Alan Kin Chung Leung

Patent number: 7577724Abstract: A rule engine process maintains a set of rules for purposes of validating a storage area network configuration. The rule engine process has access to user-defined conditions indicating whether to generate respective rule message information (e.g., advisories) when applying one or more rules in the maintained set of rules. For example, during validation of a respective storage area network configuration, the rule engine process can apply or utilize the user-defined conditions to potentially prevent generation of advisories associated with one or more applied rules. Accordingly, a user such as a storage area network administrator can customize a respective rule engine (e.g., via the user-defined conditions associated with the rules) and, based on a subsequent application of the set of rules to a storage area network configuration according to the user-defined conditions, limit generation of error messages in the event that one or more respective rules happens to fail.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2006Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Sesh Jalagam, Sharon Yuet Mei Lam
