  • Patent number: 8756768
Abstract: A waterproof slide fastener is provided. A pair of tapes has coupling elements attached thereto. A coating of polymeric material is provided on at least one surface of the tape and extends continuously therealong. The coating includes in cross-section a fin with a bulbous region. The coating is not extendable beyond the coupling elements when the slide fastener is in an open arrangement.

  • Patent number: 8402613
Abstract: A slide fastener is provided. A pair of coupling elements provided along adjacent edges of a pair of fastener tapes. A slider is configured to engage or separate the pair of coupling elements with or from each other. An end stop is secured to the pair of fastener tapes at an end portion of the pair of coupling elements. The pair of coupling elements are secured to each other at one region of the end portion of the pair of coupling elements. The one region extends between a rear end portion of a diamond of the slider and a base portion of the slider in a state where the base portion of the slider comes in contact with the end stop.

  • Patent number: 7073233
Abstract: A slide fastener is provided which has two sliders arranged to be slidable on a pair of interlocking stringers so as to open the fastener when separated and close the fastener when brought together, at least one receiving portion disposed on one of the sliders, at least one latching member disposed on one of the sliders and engageable with the receiving portion. The sliders engage and are separated by deformation of the receiving portion and/or the latching member. The slider body portion is formed separately to the latch body portion so that different materials may be used. A two part slider having a decorative surface body portion, in place of the latch body portion, is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20040187277
Abstract: A fastener for an airbag cover, the fastener comprising first and second stringer tapes which are fixed to edges of an opening in the airbag cover. The stringer tapes each have a row of coupling elements mounted thereon, and these link together to connect the stringer tapes. The connection is strong within an area of coupling elements which have been connected, but is easily disengaged from the ends of a region of connected coupling elements. The fastener comprises holding means which hold the tapes together at a predetermined position in the middle region of the fastener. The holding means will release or displace under the force of the airbag expanding. When the airbag expands, e.g. during a car crash, the holding means allows the coupling elements to open, thus opening the fastener and allowing the airbag to expand outside the airbag cover.
