  • Patent number: 4056260
Abstract: Apparatus for maintaining the freshness of blood platelet concentrate and related solutions which require continuous agitation to maintain usuable shelf life. A container for holding platelet concentrate packets contains a series of parallel cells which are disposed at an oblique angle with respect to a horizontal plane. A plurality of platelet packet containers are disposed within an equal number of cylinders which are adapted to securely hold the containers. Each cylinder has circumscribed about the outer surface thereof a friction transfer surface, each of which is aligned to contact the friction transfer bearing surface of an adjacent cylinder. A rotating power source engages a friction transfer surface of a cylinder causing same to rotate, the rotational force being transferred to all adjacent cylinders. Environmental control means maintain an appropriate temperature state during the agitation of all platelet packets being operated upon.

  • Patent number: 4040642
Abstract: A collapsible carrier for the movement of luggage or like parcels. A pair of substantially parallel, telescoping members depend perpendicular from an axle and wheel assembly, the telescoping members being joined at the top thereof by a handle. The telescoping members comprise a plurality of consecutively, axially joined sections, the coupling therebetween providing for the concentric storage of each section, each section being of uniformly reduced diameter from the axle to the handle. Each section is frictionally coupled to an adjacent section to provide for variable extension thereof. A support frame for holding the luggage pivots about an axis whereby the frame can lie either in the plane of the telescoping members or lie perpendicular thereto. In the open position, the frame lies perpendicular to the telescoping members and includes means for permitting the carrier to be opened and maintain the frame in a plane which is parallel to the ground.

  • Patent number: 3979039
Abstract: A blind rivet assembly and tool for inserting same for facilitating blind riveting processes. A carrier element having a removably secured blind rivet body provides for improved automatic insertion techniques. A carrier element has the blind rivet bodies uniformly disposed along the longitudinal dimension thereof. The rivet body is adapted for insertion within a given workpiece without the need for an integral pulling stem or mandrel. The insertion tool cooperatively engages an end portion of the rivet body forming the rivet head.

  • Patent number: 3938657
Abstract: Apparatus for permitting blind rivet elements to be installed utilizing automatic insertion equipment. A blind rivet carrier element having a predetermined width and thickness is adapted for receiving the body of the blind rivet, blind rivet bodies being uniformly disposed longitudinally along the carrier element. The blind rivet body is removably secured to a surface of the carrier element. Indentations are disposed longitudinally along the carrier element to provide for flexibility of the carrier element and simplifying the adaptation thereof to automatic insertion equipment.
