  • Patent number: 4314316
Abstract: An illuminating apparatus which may include audio sound comprises a mouthpiece chamber for producing the forcible passage of air against a flexible conductive contact which completes an electrical circuit to a lamp.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 21, 1980
Date of Patent: February 2, 1982
Inventors: Leona Gertler, Robert Gertler, Dietmar Nagel, Melvin Kennedy
  • Patent number: 4291878
Abstract: A starting gate for use in connection with a multiple-track toy vehicle racing arrangement for releasing self-propelled toy vehicles onto the tracks includes a base having a plurality of bays each of which accommodates one toy vehicle prior to the start of the race. A blocking portion of a starting element retains the respective vehicle in the respective bay in an extended position of the starting element. A spring urges the starting element toward its extended position while the starting element can be displaced into its retracted position in which it releases the respective toy vehicle for travel on the respective track upon depression of an actuating portion of the starting element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 17, 1979
Date of Patent: September 29, 1981
    Inventors: Dietmar Nagel, Melvin Kennedy
  • Patent number: 4209004
Abstract: A toy baseball pitching machine that is particularly adapted to be used by children as an outdoor game. The toy baseball pitching machine of the present invention is capable of "pitching" a plastic ball approximately 15 feet to a "batter". The pitching machine is adjustable to pitch balls through varying trajectories. The present invention includes a ball storage rack for feeding a plurality of balls into the pitching machine seriatim and an automatic shut-off switch that shuts the pitching machine off when all balls are pitched.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4135329
Abstract: An improved spring motor in combination with a toy vehicle which can be easily manufactured and which can be wound up by moving the car forwardly and rearwardly in reciprocating movement without changing the physical configuration of the motor. The motor includes a first motor member about which a coil spring is engaged and a second motor member coaxial therewith and motion transmitting means interconnecting the two members such that the first motor member is rotated in response to rotation of the second member in the same direction but at a slightly slower speed. Power take-off means connect the motor to an item to be driven such as the rear wheels of a car. The motor is rewound through the power take-off means during which ratchet means allow the rotational motion transmitting means to be ineffective and during which a rewind ratchet holds the first motor means stationary to achieve high speed spring windup.

  • Patent number: 4095784
Abstract: A toy aircraft system with an aircraft powered by an electrically driven propeller and motor mounted in the aircraft which, in turn, is mounted on a boom which can rotate about a central point and move up and down in response to changes of the vertical position of the aircraft. The motor receives its electrical energy through the boom which consists of two side-by-side slim wires or rods, one of which is rotatable about its axis to tilt the aircraft forward and backward to guide the direction of flight of the aircraft.
